- The story of a woman named Angela who was accused of aggravated murder finds herself in difficult desperate situation inside prison while meeting different kinds of women who were penalized for different kinds of crimes. She soon finds out that she is pregnant and escapes the prison to deliver her baby, but when the police realize that she's gone, they chase after her, and when they find her, to their surprise she is delivering her baby in a zoo.

They don't fit the equation, but that's what makes their relationship exciting.

- Juan Crisostomo Ibarra has changed his name and identity to rich jeweler Simoun. In disguise, he travels the world amassing wealth, which he intends to use to topple the corrupt and abusive regime in his native land. But Simoun's real motive is personal. He wants to rescue his beloved, Maria Clara, from the convent and avenge the death of his father. In a forest on Christmas Eve, medical student Basilio recognizes Simoun as the man who helped bury his mother Sisa under a tree over 10 years ago. Simoun is in the forest to retrieve the gems he buried near Sisa's grave. As the film progresses, all the secrets and intrigues are revealed, and the plotters' plan fails. A good Filipino priest throws Simoun's jewels away, thereby eliminating the greed, violence, and other evils they might have provoked.
- The film is based on the popular television soap opera or drama series; it follows Esperanza's (Judy Ann Santos) search for her real family. It seems that Esperanza's mother Isabel and father Juan Selgado got married without the approval of Isabel's mom. To be together Isabel refused to marry the man her mother promised her to, Jaime Elustre, and Juan left the girl he had been dating at the time, Sandra. As the years went by Isabel gave birth to three kids, two daughters and a son. One day Esperanza's mother took her and her sister and brother on a bus trip to visit someone; they got separated in a bus accident and had Juan believing that all of them were dead. This is the start of the ensuing drama.

Unknowingly, she gets to exact revenge on the very person who turns out to be her own daughter by the son of her former mistress. Guillen's Kapag Langit Ang Humatol (1990) was based on a radio serial about the vindictive story of rags to riches, Florida.
- Based on the popular Filipino fairytale, Ibong Adarna tells the story of an ailing king who sent his three sons to search for the Ibong Adarna "Adarna bird" as the only cure to his illness and as a reward of whoever catches the bird and bring to him will inherit the throne. Each of the princes went out on their own expedition.
- The tale of an Igorot maiden who falls in love with a man from the city. They insist on being married despite the protests of their families. The Igorot maiden suffers years of constant humiliation from her Manila in-laws, who ridicule her provincial mountainside lifestyle and dress. Finally, the couple moves to her family's territory where the groom is felled by the ax of a clan member.

- The inner workings of a family headed by a union organizer are revealed when his body is brought back to his hometown for burial. A sakada is a farmer who works in a sugarcane field harvesting it during the months of October to December. After this period, some sakadas who already live in the hacienda plant crops to tide them over until the next sugarcane harvest. Those who came from other provinces go back home. They are seasonal farm workers without any benefits. The plight of the sakadas is further explained as the movie develops, exposing along the way the vast gap between the rich and the poor.
- This political propaganda film tells of the life and exploits of then-Philippine Presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand E. Marcos (Luis Gonzales). One of the highlights of the 2-1/2-hour film is the celebrated Nalundasan case, in which the young Marcos was accused of murder.

- Based on a popular comics novel serialized in Pilipino Komiks from 1953 - 1954, it tells the story of the boy Dumagit who grows up in the jungle with his guardian and animal friends. Dr. Joaquin Olivar and his pregnant wife Marina hide in a remote island after Olivar was accused of a crime and Marina feared being ostracized. Marina dies after giving birth to a baby boy, David. Olivar takes care of the baby on his own and gives him the nickname Dumagit. Later, Olivar is killed by a group of men who came into the island to hunt animals. Thus, Dumagit grows up with a deer, monkey, and other animals Twenty years later, Federico Olivar, brother of Joaquin Olivar, comes to the island to look for his brother. He brings back Dumagit to civilization but Dumagit decides to stay in the jungle with his amazon girlfriend, Marabini. This film is the Philippine version of Tarzan.
- Ifugao tells about the conflict between the mountain ethnic tribal warriors and the American colonizers during the early years of the US regime. It was the first film to focus on the lifestyle of the Ifugao mountain tribe of the Cordillera mountain region of the Philippines with authenticity. The film uses the picturesque locale of the Ifugao rice terraces in Banaue (called the Eight Wonder of the World) to full advantage.
