- Where are we welcome? On a quiet street in Helsinki, Sachie has opened a diner featuring rice balls. For a month she has no customers. - Sonja is getting married to Kimi. During the wedding preparations, Kimi has a sudden attack of illness. Sonja drives him to the hospital, but on the way, she has an accident and Kimi dies in hospital. Sonja is in shock. She is certain that she has caused Kimi's death, until his autopsy report and Inspector Tuomo Alatalo's investigation show that his death was a suicide. Kimi had taken a drug overdose. Once she gets over the worst of her shock, Sonja starts to take care of practical matters related to Kimi's death. She discovers that Kimi had been lying to her from the beginning. The man Sonja was going to marry never existed. She begins to uncover his hidden past, since it had been her past as well. She finds out about the mysterious Niko and Nina, whom she had never even heard about. Niko had left several threatening messages on Kimi's phone the day he had died. Sonja finds a farewell message Kimi had written to her in her mail box. According to the letter, Kimi was about to leave her before the wedding. Sonja's world begins to fall apart.
