- Allsång på Skansen is Sweden's longest running music-show in both radio and TV. It's been aired in the summer at Saturday's for more than 70 years (with a couple of breaks between 1952 - 1955 and 1967 - 1973). It started on the radio in may 1935 with the singing teacher Sven Lilja (host: 1935 - 1951), at the microphone in front of a live audience. The songs were handed out at the entrance. And at that time where people singing folk-songs, ballads and songs with patriotic spirit. And Lilja was followed by Egon Kjerrman (host: 1956 - 1966) who changed the repertoire towards evergreens and left after 10 years without a successor. As his motto was: -' sing rather than good. So then was the show cancelled until 1974 when it was given a new life with Bosse Larsson (host: 1974 - 1993). And then was it still only a radio-show. But Bosse fought it could work on the national television broadcast service (SVT). So the first episode aired on SVT 1 in 1979, and since 1985 has it's been aired live during the Swedish summer whit different hosts after Bosse Larsson did his last episode in 1993, and made his blessing to Lasse Berghagen (host: 1993-2003), how started to have international artist (as Ricky Martin and Wyclef Jean).
