- When Larry's brother, whom he's been jealous of because he's so popular who is now a big shot, comes for a visit. He pretends to be a big shot himself. But when his brother stays longer than expected things get out of hand.
- Larry regrets teaching Balki the importance of keeping confidential information he learns in the mail room, when he realizes Balki knows whether Larry got the raise he needs to buy his dream car.
- The Winslow family deals with various misadventures, many of them caused by their pesky next-door neighbor, ultra-nerd Steve Urkel.
- Balki is named the new head of the grievance committee at the Chicago Chronicle. But his new role becomes more difficult than expected when some of his friends have complaints filed against them.
- Jennifer and Mary Anne have an argument. Mary Anne moves out and goes to Larry and Balki's and they let her stay. When Jennifer learns what they did, she feels as if they betrayed her. Mary Anne's presence causes problems for them. But they don't have the heart to ask her to leave. So they try to get the gals together to work out their problems.
- Divorced contractor Frank Lambert and widowed beautician Carol Foster meet, fall in love and quickly get married. Both have three children and when the families all move in together the kids and parents have a lot of learning to do.
- Urkel joins in on Carl's poker night, only for Lt. Murtaugh to take quick advantage and clean out the nerd. Eventually, Urkel gets his revenge by cleaning out the hustling, loud-mouthed lieutenant. Meanwhile, Harriette offers to help understaffed Rachel at Rachel's Place, but Rachel takes her sister's well-meant suggestions the wrong way.
- Carl has to stay on a treadmill that is rigged with a bomb.
- A street gang named the Dragons begin causing trouble at Rachel's Place, breaking things and sexually harassing employees; Carl arrives just in time to chase them out. That night, after closing time, the gang breaks in and heavily vandalizes the teen hangout. Everyone's anger grows when a bruised and bloodied Eddie arrives, announcing he was ambushed by the Dragons' gang members. Carl wants to take matters into his own hands, but Urkel reminds him that if he were to do that, he'd only destroy much more than his career. Urkel eventually agrees to go undercover as a prospective gang member and trick them into confessing their recent activities.
- It's brains vs. brawn in a rope-climbing contest, as scrawny Urkel competes against loud-mouthed jock Alex for the rights to capture Laura's affections. Urkel knows he can't win the conventional way, so he devises a jet pack to help ensure his victory.
- Rachel becomes choir director at her church and soon drives everyone crazy with her micromanagement. She also unknowingly tests recent born-again Christian Urkel's faith when he wants to join the choir, despite his (decidedly) off-key vocal abilities. Estelle eventually sets Rachel straight
- Urkel annoys Carl with his prized Peruvian beetle. The bug gets loose and a spooked Carl kills it, to Urkel's horror. When Carl refuses to pay for the expensive bug, Urkel decides to see if a television small claims court judge agrees that it was more than "just a stupid bug."
- It's a case of puppy love for Laura when she falls head over heels for Carl's new rookie partner, Officer Mike Doyle. Carl's remarks about Laura playing grown-up - in front of Mike - don't go over too well.
- Urkel and Laura are in the same boat as equipment manager for the basketball team and underclassman cheerleader, respectively. Urkel's talents on the court seem to go unnoticed by the coach ... until he is the only available team member left who hasn't become injured or fouled out; he winds up being instrumental in his team's winning rally. In Laura's case, she has to deal with snotty team captain Cassie Lynn, who insists on running the squad her way, even though her clichéd cheers aren't going over too well. Laura's cheers, however, really spark some crowd enthusiasm.
- Urkel tries to tell Laura that potential boyfriend Daniel Wallace is bad news. Thinking his attempts to meddle in her life have risen to a new level, Laura tells Urkel never to speak to him again. Harriette finds out and warns Laura that she may not only regret her words, but that she'll surely grow "old and alone." That night, Laura has a dream whereby she is an elderly spinster while 90-year-old Urkel is married to a beautiful woman.
- Urkel creates a robot named after himself. But the robot soon develops a mind of its own and - after trapping its inventor in the closet - poses as the nerd and invites Laura over ... so it can have her all to itself.
- Urkel tutors a pretty girl named Vonda, a girl whom Eddie is looking forward to asking out. When she passes a test, Vonda comes on to the nerd, prompting him to conclude she has an easy reputation. Urkel helps set her straight, which is good for her ... but definitely not what Eddie was hoping for. Meanwhile, Carl is the butt of Lt. Murtaugh's jokes when he is asked to wear drag for a drug sting.
- Laura wins the female lead role in the school production of "Romeo and Juliet," and looks forward to the kissing scene with her Romeo, Daniel Wallace. Then Daniel falls ill and the understudy - who else but Urkel - takes his place. Thanks to Urkel's clumsiness and being himself, the play turns out to be a disaster.
- Urkel repeatedly sleepwalks into the Winslows' bedroom to belt Carl over the head with a newspaper. Harriette gets an annoyed Carl to call over a hypnotist to see what's behind Urkel's behavior ... and Harriette is more than a little disturbed by the findings. Turns out Carl had yelled at him after the nerd accidentally broke his ship-in-a-bottle, then - unaware that he was listening in - told Laura he wished he'd go away for good. Carl eventually realizes he needs to apologize.
- A show called "America Up Close" is doing a "blended family" segment and the Foster/Lambert family is chosen. Carol is embarrassed because the whole world will see that the kids constantly fight. Carol's prediction was correct and she ends up making Frank sleep on the couch. Dana convinces the other kids to be nice to each other. The next day during filming, the kids are nice to each other and Carol and Frank make up.
- J.T., who needs extra money, agrees to work for Frank. Frank is thrilled though J.T. doesn't feel the same way. After failing horribly there, J.T. works for Carol as a shampoo boy. The only good thing about working as a shampoo boy is that J.T. can touch girls and not get in trouble. Dana needs to build a birdhouse and Al has to write a report on Tom Sawyer. To get decent grades, they switch assignments. Eventually, Brendan points out that it is cheating. After seeing Al's birdhouse, Frank and Al end up talking about construction.
- Dana and her friend Bernice want to see their favorite folk singer at a bar called Jake's. At first, Carol lets her go but later learns from Frank that it is a very dangerous place so she forbids Dana to go. Dana feels that Frank is controlling her so she goes anyway. When Cody learns that Dana went to Jake's, he rushes there and beats up several thugs. Eventually, the numbers are too great and the other thugs are about to beat up Cody. Just then Frank comes in to help Cody. The two of them beat up the others and Dana is saved. Though Frank breaks his hand, Dana appreciates him and Cody saving her.
- The Lamberts move in with the Fosters and the kids are fighting right off the bat. Frank and Carol want the kids to think they are dating but Frank accidentally announces that they got married in Jamaica. Al is having stomach pains and Frank believes she is faking it so she doesn't have to go to school. Carol takes Al to the doctor and it turns out that Al was not faking the pain and she needs to have her appendix removed. For a short time, the kids forget their rivalry and are more concerned with Al.
- Carol thinks that the best way for the family to bond would be the Port Washington Games. The Lamberts, who have won three years in a row, don't want the Fosters on their team, simply because they are not athletic enough. The Fosters find the Games to be barbaric, but they eventually agree to participate. The Lamberts are devastated when they learn that Cody will not be there to help them win for a fourth straight year. Karen turns out to be the secret weapon as her beauty distracts the opponents. When it comes down to the final event, Cody shows up to help the Lamberts win for the fourth straight year.
- Al asks the pitcher to her baseball team to the school dance. He says yes but when another girl that he likes more ask him he breaks the date with Al. Al is then devastated and her and Mike ask for Karens advise and she makes it worse because no ones ever broke a date with her. Steve Urkel sees her disappointment and tries to cheer her up and it works. They end up going to the dance together while shes wearing a flowery dress. There Roger (the pitcher) notices how pretty Al is without her catchers mask on so he asked her to dance. Of course, she doesn't and tells him off for being such a jerk.
- Carol's car is doing pretty much everything except running correctly so she and Frank decide they need a new car. Frank brings Carol to his pal's car lot. Frank tries to get a good deal but Carol gets the better deal. J.T. has a date so he uses Carol's car, then someone borrows the car from J.T. Penny finds a man who is a mortician. She brings him over for dinner at Frank and Carol's but he talks about his job too much.
- Carol discover's at Brendan's 6th birthday that a traditional Lambert bowling day isn't his preference, so she arranges a regular kids party, with popular clown Yo-Yo. Alas the star cancels at the last minute, so Frank steps in. Meanwhile the authorities reported Frank and Carol's Jamaican wedding was illegal, so a city hall repeat is required. Unlike Frank, Carol insists on a romantic production. As the reverend she wants to reside is about to leave, it has to coincide with Brendan's party and actually gets merged in.
- Frank and J.T. are tickled pink when cousin Cody, the cool demolition natural who lives in his van, arrives for a weekend visit. J.T. naughtily bets that even he can't charm Barky into a date. Carol is hopelessly and misleadingly unclear about her expectations for the first wedding month-'anniversary'. So Frank simply buys a super-saw in a hardware-sale, but he finds a Jamaica-nostalgic alternative.
- Carol's penchant for micromanaging the household had worked well for the Fosters, but it isn't with the Lamberts now part of the family. Frank objects to his having to cash in special "tokens" that will allow him to watch 30 minutes of television, but that's nothing compared to how Al feels about Carol's rules. When Carol refuses to accept Al's criticism, she announces plans to move to Milwaukee to live with her grandmother.
- J.T. and Cody believe in aliens so Dana and Karen tease them. They try to make the guys like idiots by having a UFO fly over the house. Cody and J.T. learn of the plan and decide to play some mind games of their own. Frank's office is a mess and Carol attempts to help him organize the place. Carol puts all the information into a computer which pleases Frank. Soon after, Carol loses the information that was on the computer. They end up going through a dumpster to find the information that was in shoe boxes. After getting garbage poured on them, they find the boxes.
- Since Carol insists on joint activities, Frank agrees to join her to the opera if the Fosters join camping, a favorite Lambert pastime. The Foster kids wine non-stop from the start, and soon get some reasons, such as a truck parking incident which strands them till the park ranger's weekly visit. Cody realizes they're missing, and goes tracking, but so does a bear, really close.
- Cody tries to impress Dana and gets a job as a corporate executive. His job is to put prizes in the quarter machines for the young kids. He puts kids before profit and ends up getting fired. The family decides that an answering machine is needed to retrieve messages. Karen gets a call from a crush named Bobby, but neglects to tell Frank that there was a message for him saying the building he is supposed to remodel is getting demolished. Frank nearly gets killed and Karen gets punished.
- American comedy with a larger-than-life teacher and his housemates.
- Eddie doesn't study for a chemistry test and convinces Urkel to help him cheat (by pretending to have a cold). When Urkel really does have a cold, he is caught giving Eddie the answers and - when he keeps mum about who he was helping to cheat - is threatened with expulsion. Meanwhile, Carl becomes the laughingstock of the precinct when he literally sleeps through a house burglary (thanks to the crooks using sleeping gas). One night, when Eddie and Urkel were confessing their misdeed to Carl, they fall asleep again - only for Harriette and Rachel to nab the burglars in the act. Eddie and Urkel eventually have to re-take the test.
- Waldo's fragile self-esteem takes a huge hit when a misunderstanding he caused results in Eddie's girlfriend leaving him. Waldo decides the only way he can cope is to join the Army Reserves. Urkel finds out and insists that Eddie go look for him and apologize before Waldo makes a big mistake. Of course, Urkel, Eddie and Waldo wind up causing a whole lot of hijinks and get on the wrong side of a tough drill sergeant before they can talk things out. Meanwhile, Carl and Harriette deal with a shady repairman.
- Estelle wants to share the stories of her late fighter-pilot husband and World War II's Tuskegee Airmen with her family, but nobody is interested. She decides that Eddie's American history class may be more willing to listen (particularly Eddie, after he sees how cool his grandfather was).
- Urkel helps popular jock Ted Curran break the ice with homecoming queen nominee Laura.
- Urkel, Eddie and Waldo go on the teen dating show "Dudes," which Laura insists is raunchy and sexist. Urkel easily wins a date with one of the female contestants, but instead uses his live TV opportunity to reaffirm his love for Laura.
- Urkel composes a detective yarn about 1940s-era gumshoe Johnny Danger, who is sent to protect supper club owner (and assassin target) Rachel.
- A variety of situations involving the gang and home-ec class: Urkel can't cook a lick (and of course causes plenty of accidents); snotty Cassie Lynn finds she can't always be a cover girl all the time; and Waldo learns he may just be good at something after all.

Eddie confesses and realizes he shouldn't have listened to Clarence, whom Harriette quickly becomes fed up with and kicks out of the house.
- Just as Richie is trying to deal with pushy 5-year-old vixen Gwendolyn, a determined Urkel pulls his biggest stunt yet in trying to get Laura to go out with him - by sitting on the roof of the Winslows' house and not coming down until she says yes.
- Urkel convinces R&B singer Johnny Gill to serenade Laura in the Winslow's living room. Meanwhile, Carl and Harriette try to enjoy their second honeymoon at a resort that's a little too cold for comfort.

- Urkel and Carl are forced to share the same hospital room, when the nerd suffers from appendicitis and the cop wounded while trying to foil a robbery.
- A reprogrammed Urkelbot is sent to fight crime, and proves to be instrumental in foiling a serial convenience store robber. Meanwhile, the women find (to their horror) that a new shampoo has caused them to go bald.
- Rumors fly around school that Laura and Ted had sex on their date. Urkel confronts Ted and his buddies, but gets shoved into his locker, then Laura refuses to believe the nerd when he warns her about the rumors. When Maxine's story about the rumors match Urkel's, Laura decides she needs to salvage her new "easy" reputation and get the truth out in the open.
- Laura had enough problems trying to give Urkel the brush-off. Now, Waldo is the one who's head over heels in love with the Winslow girl ... especially after she tried to encourage down-on-his-luck Waldo.
- Feuding neighbors Urkel and Carl decide to settle things on "American Gladiators."
