- The documentary tells the story of these invisible sailors, little hands of globalization. "It is as beautiful an art to know how to behave towards men as to know how to behave towards ships" This sentence from the writer Joseph Conrad fits well with the vocation of the homes for sailors. At the Port of La Rochelle-Pallice, 1,200 boats pass through the year and 9,000 sailors stop at the Seamen's club, while the holds of the cargo ships are emptied and refilled with logs, cement, cereals or dough. paper. On land, the "seafarers" do not forget the sailors. In La Rochelle, as in almost all the ports, out of solidarity, there are always associations that offer a home, a place that acts as a refuge in the midst of the incessant traffic of goods. Since the attacks of September 11, 2011, sailors can no longer move around and leave ports as before. With the International Code for the Security of Ships and Port Installations - or ISPS code -, the movement of people in ports is closely monitored. During stopovers, the Seamen's club foyers are therefore the only places where they can communicate with their family thanks to their mobile via the club's WIFI or the purchase of a SIM card and have fun while spending an evening outside the boat.

- The documentary film is about five Polish women living in Norway. The story begins from the decision to move to Norway, going through different phases of the stay in this country to the present time. The characters tell about their own experiences and challenges that they have to deal with. The first theme of the film is the decision they make when moving to Norway. The reasons vary. Mainly there are financial considerations. It can also be the dream of living in another country, the desire to try something new or a desire to join friends and family. Moving abroad is associated with high stress. In addition uncertainty and various concerns comes. Many questions arise, such as what one can handle, what about the family and parents or how the children will respond to their new environment and whether the adults will be able to learn a new language. They can show that dreams associated with departure can be stronger than fear. Another question comes. The women should describe what they really dream about. Another theme of the film is the impact of the new reality. Associated with the first defeat, disappointments, dramatic moments but also new opportunities and hopes. The next theme is also in a way, the next phase of life. Need to get up and move on. It is often associated with changing and changing priorities, but also with finding a new way for oneself and rediscovering oneself. Fortunately, some helpful hands come into view that affect us when we need it most. Both Norwegians and other Poles support each other. At least with a good word. Another important theme in the film is integration into Norwegian society and with other Polish people in Norway. The following aspect that is also present in the film is a problem with language. It is not easy for an adult to learn a new language. These women can share their experiences and what is the biggest obstacle to success. One of the most important issues is working on successes and achievements. The characters certainly have something to say about this. Considering the above aspects, we can try to find the answer to the question of what Norway has provided for these women. What Norway took from them. What it was that changed in their lives. What has changed for the better and what has changed for the worse. The life of each of the characters has changed dramatically, but what does it really mean for each of them to begin life again? Norwegians often ask the question of Poles longing for their homeland. If so, what they usually long for. The answers are different, as people are different. Nevertheless, Polish food is the most common answer. Maybe these women will give such answers in the film as well. Towards the end of the movie, the characters will talk about how they feel as immigrants in their everyday lives. What kind of relationships they build with other Poles and Norwegians, and whether they want to live in Norway for the rest of their lives. They will also unveil their dreams and plans for the future.
