- A dude's plot to 'down' a lady backfires.
- This film captures a stage production at Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, accompanied by the choir of Moscow Synagogue. Brothers Isaak and Borukh are both in love with Sarra, but Sarra chooses Isaac and they got married. However, Sarra could not conceive for ten years, and their Rabbi tells them that according to Jewish law, they must divorce. Isaak's parents push him to sign the divorce paper, then their Rabbi drops the divorce paper to Sarra's feet. She tells Isaac about her grief, and Isaak commits suicide. Soon after-wards, Sore realizes that she is pregnant, but she is now single.

- Tom Dilley had induced Sarah, when very young to marry him and go west. After many hardships they reached their destination. Shortly after Tom was taken down with fever. Sarah nursed him back to health with one hand, while with the other she took in washing. Through her faithful efforts Tom recovers, and starting out with hardly a penny the two pull together and after thirty years save a small fortune. Tom builds a house for Sarah. Then one day Tom catches the hired man kissing his wife. Without asking an explanation he obtains a divorce. Sarah refuses to leave her house declaring she is entitled to half the property they have accumulated. She draws a chalk line through the center of the house. She lives on one side and Tom on the other. Things go on in this manner for several weeks the two not even speaking. Finally the situation getting the best of Tom, he goes to his attorney to ask advice. His attorney tells him to go immediately and ask Sarah to explain her conduct toward the hired man. He does as advised, and Sarah tells her reason. Their life of toil was getting monotonous. She craved romance, and decided to try just one kiss, although it nearly made her ill. Tom asks her forgiveness and says no divorce in the world could again separate them.
- Sarah, who lives in Cucumber Center, has a desire to become a circus queen. When the big show comes to town, Sarah takes all her savings and goes to the circus grounds. When she sees Rudolph Ringtail, the owner of the show, she faints right into his arms and murmurs "Yes" to his unspoken question. Rudolph had previously seen Sarah stuff a stout pocketbook into her stocking, so he does not mind. He calls a convenient minister, and the two are made one. "And now, dearie, a little something to tip the minister," he prompts her. She hands out her bag. In it is a choice collection of powder puff, buttons, samples, a piece of gum, but no money. Rudolph all but faints when Sarah tells him that she spent all her money. However, the show must go on, so he determines to make use of his bride. Elvira, the Bareback queen, is sick, and Sarah has to take her place. Sarah, in powder-puff skirts and tights, is a riot, but the only trouble is that the crowd mistakes her for a new clown. Things look pretty bad, when a disgruntled employee hitches the elephant to the big top, and the animal pulls the whole show away by main force. "At least, we have each other, darling," says Sarah but Rudolph goes into melancholy madness on the spot.
