- Rich executive being threatened by a burglar who had been caught trying to steal his mansion hires a hitman to kill him in prison. But another man is killed instead, leaving a widow and three kids. Full of remorse, he tries to help the family, taking everyone home. Soon, conflicts arise from the impossible coexistence of such contrasting families under the same roof.

- Theater director asks his actors for a research on human cruelty and misery in Brazil, while trying to raise funds for his next production, a play based on a story by Machado de Assis, "A Causa Secreta" (The Secret Cause). The troupe oblige and go around town witnessing long lines in National Health Services, inhuman conditions in public hospitals and poor people being constantly humiliated. They find people are becoming indifferent to human suffering.
- Clown tells the story of João Grilo, a rich couple's lively employee who cheats everybody in town: arranges a funeral for a dog, bribes the priest and the bishop into celebrating a mass in latin for the animal, and performs many other bizarre things. After he dies, he's submitted to a trial in Heaven, being judged by a black Christ, having the Devil as prosecutor and the Virgin Mary as his defense.
- Real estate broker and former boxer enters an old cinema in the decadent downtown São Paulo and meets an intriguing and mysterious woman, very much alike the leading lady of the film. He gets involved with her and her problems and in no time is being accused of a crime.

Until one of the girls decides to tell the reporter about the underground activities going on, and he calls the police.

Clara Crocodilo is considered to be the public enemy #1, and he's waiting his execution at a state penitentiary. Meanwhile, the Radio Interferência eloquently narrates his story. Some strange characters come forth and even some voodoo rituals are performed to help the anti-hero. He manages to escape and disappears in the dark alleys of the city.

CRUSP history is told since its creation in 1963, through archive footage and photographs, as well interviews with people who lived there.

His friends release "stocks" in a parallel stock market, based and supported in the expectation of the possible marriage of Constantino with Cristina. However, the ghost of Coronel Alexandrão appears for her whenever she intends to have sex with Constantino.
- Bondomil, a quiet little town, becomes famous because in its main square there's a tree with strange fruits, with the format of the male sex organ, supposed to be an aphrodisiac for women. Soon the population grows wild, and tourists gather around it.

- Apolônio Brasil was a cult pianist who used to play in nightclubs in Rio de Janeiro, in the 1950s and 1960s. Quite a character, Apolônio was loved by women, idolized by his audience and friends, besides being extremely high-spirited and charming. For all that, his brain is removed after his death and becomes the center of a dispute among an American scientist, Dr. Bóris, who wants to study it, his friends and his son Paluca. The film is an attempt to pay homage to the nightlife in Rio de Janeiro of the 50s, and to the "chanchada" a genre of musical-comedy typically Brazilian.
- Raul and Saul work at the same office. Raul, outgoing and good-natured comes from a broken marriage. Saul is shy, with a critical and bitter disposition. He comes from a broken engagement, and a failed suicide attempt. In spite of their differences, they become quite good friends. But their colleagues begin to wonder whether there's something beyond friendship between them.

Her best friend was the plump Ronalda Cristalda. Besides, she was the daughter of political refugees, and couldn't make up her mind about which boy she would commit herself to. Living in the apartment also was Bacana, an orphan they kind of adopted, and who, despite being a child, proved to be the most mature of them all.
- Scoundrel João Fausto, a former Portuguese officer, arrives in Tiradentes,in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Using his status of former Imperial Court member, he tries to become lover of both ms. Lima and ms. Rocha, with the intention of taking their money.

In the third, a man suffering from claustrophobia has to hide inside a closet, when his lover's aunt arrives unexpectedly.
