- "Nora Kaminski - without a doctorate." This is how Tanja Wedhorn introduces herself to the residents of Rügen as a doctor in "Practice with a sea view". The former ship's doctor did not land on the Baltic Sea island entirely voluntarily. The quick-witted, cheerful nature from the Ruhr area first has to assert itself under the idiosyncratic northern lights. But the 42-year-old doctor is in financial difficulties. Her reserves are just enough for a room in an "old captain's house full of character", where hot water is not guaranteed and the cranky landlord Matthias Samland (Hans-Uwe Bauer) gives her the cold shoulder. For now, she can only rely on her doctor colleague and former college friend, Dr. Richard Freese (Stephan Kampwirth), who is looking for a partner with unusual ideas, but is secretly still attached to his childhood sweetheart Nora. The practice team is completed by medical assistant Mandy (Morgane Ferru).
- The smug TV star Tim Seebach (Oliver Mommsen) is the celebrated inspector "Der Lux" in a popular television series, whose success has gone to his head. In real murder cases in his hometown of Bremerhaven, he likes to intervene without being asked in the investigations of Chief Inspector Wiebke Tönnessen (Antonia Bill), much to her chagrin. The restaurant owner Hannah Lübker (Ulrike C. Tscharre) rounds off the trio of investigators, who understands the prominent weekend returnee better than he would like.
- In a party mood with Anne, her friend Laura and his best friend and Jewish doctor colleague Tobias , Daniel also poses as a Jew. Above all, he wants to impress Anne. She has specialized in Jewish literature with her bookstore, is a volunteer helper in a Jewish retirement home and also supports the Jewish author Schlomo Wisniewski. Anne and Daniel become a couple and the little swindle becomes a web of white lies that Daniel can no longer get out of. He can only hope that in the end Anne will love him for who he is .
