Johnny Jr. is Theo's brother, a gay man who operates the hot dog stand next door. Ace is the black mail carrier with numerous wagers from the Post Office, all betting on Harold Washington. The bitterly-contested election fractures the city along racial lines. Money, power and a familiar way of life hang in the balance as Busted City careens toward an explosive climax.
- Empire is a feature film following the misadventures of two men shipwrecked in the vast Pacific Trash Vortex. As the men struggle to survive, the power play between them devolves from the darkly comedic and absurd into crashing fear and existential terror. This dystopian grotesquerie presents an epic challenge: man vs. garbage.
- INTERLUDE "A film you can explain in words is not a real film." -- Michelangelo Antonioni The imagery of a film and the music of a soundtrack convey something that mere words cannot. While I may not always agree with Antonioni's quote, my primary aspiration for Interlude is that the film is evocative. It can mean different things to different people but I hope it conveys the stunning beauty and fragility of life, the new overtaking the old, and embracing the wonder of the moment. Katherine Terrell toured the world as a professional opera singer. She is also a cancer survivor. After losing my parents and other friends in recent years, mortality has been a constant element not only in my life but in the lives of so many others. This is one of the inspirations for Interlude, as was the timeless classic, Alice in Wonderland. My film is yet another trip down the rabbit hole of life and Kathy's performances are part of the cavalcade of imagery of Interlude, as life rushes by like a dream.
