- In "On the Wrong Side," Lisa Kirsch Slater tells the story of her life in Berlin before, during, and after World War 2, including her time spent as a teletypist for Hitler's Wehrmacht, and her growing disillusionment as the events of the war unfolded around her. Present for the Valkyrie assassination attempt against Hitler, Slater attempted to flee to neutral Switzerland but was arrested and imprisoned. She later returned to Berlin, where after a grueling winter under Russian occupation, she celebrated the liberation of her sector of Berlin by American troops.
