The program spotlights the many shining stars of the district -- its outstanding teachers, students, and schools. 2002-2003 was the program's inaugural season airing on KERA's sister station Channel 2 in Dallas, TX. Originating from a different featured school each time, the show is designed to inform parents, students, and the community about the positive programs, stories, and people found within Texas' second largest school district. Its mission was to foster pride and awareness in the successes and accomplishments of Dallas ISD. The cast included host's Royce Williams, Lincoln HS and Ismenia Gaviria, Booker T. Washington HSPVA and reporters Kirsten Brew, Carter HS; Lauren Elliot, Bryan Adams HS; Christy Terry, Skyline HS; Angele Coleman, Booker T.; Savannah Person, Seagoville, HS, Kyle Howard, Molina HS; and Rebecca Ramirez, Booker T. Washington HSPVA.
