The movie portrays the soul and real ambiance of Majuli, the largest river island on earth. The movie which opens with a soul pleasing shot of the river Brahmaputra with a ship ferrying, takes us to the river island and introduces us to the unvarying and routine life of Moukon, Luit, Simanta, Joi, Topon, and Bhaskar. Moukon, a young carefree girl finds herself at the center of some mysterious deaths after which she is socially considered a jinx. Simanta, Joi and his friends are well qualified but are still in search of a substantial life. Life is also indifferent for Luit who moves from door to door by selling insurance policies and has no better resolutions for the future. Amidst all the scrambling there is also space for some untainted love stories at the core of Bornodi Bhotiai which takes the movie to its ultimate culmination.

Siyajuli Hospital is situated in a very remote place of Majuli. The inhabitants of the locality belongs to tribal Mishing people having own traditional social customs, religious faith and practices. The village Satula, head of all religious practices in the area dictates terms in matter of religious activity. He is very orthodox and adamant. Dr. Nazim Hussain, MBBS, is posted at Siyajuli Hospital by Govt. He joins there and works sincerely with dedication in treating patients. He visits the houses of raised platform to treat patient whenever requested. The Satula is irritated by the act of visiting the houses by the doctor as Muslim should not enter the house of Hindu. This is a sin. Agam Doley Head Master of the local High School is a man of progressive view and social worker. He fully supports the doctor and encourages the people to accept medical treatment instead of indulging blind faith and practices. Satula plots conspiaracy to transfer Dr. from there but failed. Meena daughter of Bankidhar whom Gantilal, son of Mugilal of Kopatoli village wants to love her but Meena denied. One night Gantilal comes to Bankidhar's house secretly to molstate Meena but cought by Bonkidhar. Gantilal has been driven on village road by villagers. Mugilal dramatically make Bonkidhar's family as witch domesticator. The villagers killed Bankidhar and his wife. Meena luckly saved from the mob by escaping and take shelter in the house of Agam Doley. She tells the actual incident in presence of Agam and the mob.

Assembly of desire is a multidisciplinary symposium and festival initiated by the desire machine collective extending the project Periferry. The proposed program will take place at Majuli island in Assam during 12-15 January 2018. As a socially engaged project, which is site-specific and event-driven, the project Assembly which is located on the Majuli island will engage with the very processes of living in the space and attempt to blur the line between art and life. It uses art to affect social dynamics and addresses social relations. It offers an opportunity for a complex and exciting mode of cultural production in a local context producing works by collaborations and a community context. The process will emphasize participation, dialogue, and action, and will appear in situations ranging from the performative to activism to urban planning to visual art to ecology. The participants will be sharing techniques and intentions and exploring new methods where process and experience are central.
