Johanna is happy and content in her little world - until one day a mysterious parcel arrives in the post. It contains a shard of glass and a letter that evokes a distressing memory in her long ago. The images stand out clearly in their minds: In July 1969, the Americans set off on their trip to the moon. The young Johanna, who already lived on the Hallig back then, is watching the start of the Apollo rocket with her husband Ole Thamsen on television. Then he and the children go on a short trip to Hamburg, while Johanna is looking forward to a few relaxing days. She treats the only guest in her guesthouse with the left: the hydraulic engineer Anton Brunner has to take soil samples on the island and in the mud flats so that the Hallig residents can soon be connected to the water network with a pipeline. The locals are not enthusiastic about this innovation and meet the engineer with great rejection. Only Johanna - who actually comes from Tyrol and feels a little behind the moon on her Hallig - is fascinated by the charming, good-looking man. There is a delicate rapprochement between the two. While the astronauts land on the earth's satellite, Johanna experiences a full moon for five days. When her husband Ole returns, she faces a difficult decision.
- Commissioner Piet Becker is no longer in the mood. After decades with the criminal police, he surrenders his gun and badge. Not that he didn't enjoy his job - but Piet still wants to make a fresh start. After all, what use is a successful career if it has been light years since you felt really good and carefree? Before he can start his new life, however, he has to travel to Husum to sell the house of his recently deceased aunt. Piet has very special memories of this place. He and his brother Hannes spent their summer holidays here every year as teenagers. With Piet as the singer, Hannes on the bass, the pretty Paula on the piano and the buddy Rüdiger on the drums, they really made music back then. Today the music parties and the palpitations when Paula was around are little more than a wistful memory for Piet. The rocky Rüdiger now leads a middle-class family life, Paula works as a doctor in the practice of the renowned Dr. Sander - and the shrewd Hannes rascals through the world as a marriage swindler. Surprisingly, Hannes turns up at the same time as Piet in Husum, he is in financial difficulties. The two dissimilar brothers - the cop and the marriage impostor - have actually had nothing to say to each other for a long time. The old days, the band, the parties seem to be a thing of the past. But then a young woman named Juliane Martens is found dead - and suddenly the old friends have to move back together. Because the police suspect Hannes of all people as the perpetrator, as he camped with his trailer near the crime scene and was the last to be seen with the victim. Piet knows that his rascal brother would not be capable of such a brutal crime and decides to protect him. It's not that easy at all, because the awkward Inspector Röder would like to arrest Hannes immediately. Rüdiger and Paula are also involved in the search for a murderer - and so the old combo starts again, not realizing that Paula, of all people, is closer to the perpetrator than she can be: a respected citizen of the city, actually beyond any doubt .
