- Stoic detective Michael Kendall is sent out to the strange home of one Ivan Parker after Ivan's daughter Samie filed a missing persons report concerning her mother. Upon arriving at Mr. Parker's home, Kendall senses something isn't quite right with Ivan. After asking to come in, detective Kendall witnesses Ivan yell at his young son, and also spots a framed bible passage on a wall referencing the "rod of iron" from the book of revelations. Kendall manages to speak with Samie alone, who confides that Ivan killed her mother and was also abusive as a father. Before Kendall can react he is clubbed unconscious from behind with a literal rod of iron, wielded by Ivan Parker. Later, Kendall wakes, tied to a chair, and is forced to bear witness to the killing of Samie at the hands of her father and a strange looking follower. Kendall manages to free himself and escapes from Ivan's home, finding refuge in the wilderness behind the Parker house. Shortly after however Ivan and his follower find Kendall and engage in a final confrontation with the detective. Kendall manages to kill the follower, ramming the man's own rod of iron through the man's stomach. Before Kendall can do anything else, Ivan drives a rod through the detective's back, mortally wounding him. Before Kendall dies however he is able to stab Ivan through the eye with a metal crucifix and kill him. Kendall falls to the ground and dies shortly after. Inside the home, no one is left but Ivan's young son who ponderously stares at a crucifix before the film fades out.
