- Unnoticed by anyone, a mouse makes his way through an old theatre. On his way, he nibbles on pages of an old book and spits out fragments of theatre theory from the "Former East". The film is a pretext for documenting a space and confronting it with the theories and ideals by and for which it was created. The project was filmed on location in the former rehearsal space of the Erich Weinert Ensemble for the National People's Army of the German Democratic Republic. Today, the building houses an association organizing events and activities for the local community. The preserved interior and stage equipment, as if in Sleeping Beauty slumber, no longer meet the needs and regulations of a new era. They are the now rare remnants of the ideological cat-and-mouse game between East and West. What remains is a mouse without an antagonist, whose words evaporate into the empty stage space. The spoken texts are quotations from revolutionary texts of the theory of theatre, from authors such as Sergei Tretyakov, Konstantin Sergeyevich Stanislavsky or Bertold Brecht, from whom the title quotation also comes.
