- Multiple teams race around the globe for $1,000,000 to 'amazing' locations.
- In 1986, David Whitman came home, contaminated his wife and child, and watched them die. Years later, he leads a hazmat team investigating an industrial accident near Budapest. One contaminated man escaped. Terrorist expert Holly Anderson is part of a unit which operates on the premise that the contaminated man is a terrorist murdering his victims. Whitman, on the other hand, believes the contaminated man to be an innocent victim. Either way, the contaminated man must be found, because after he touches people, they live only a few minutes.
- 1914 in a small Hungarian town. The journalist Sándor has a love affair with a girl but ruins it when he won't marry below his own ranks.
- A small town somewhere in Hungary. Teenage kids spend their summer holiday at the old swimming pool. Rigó, the local champion, and Gyuszi, who follows Rigó wherever he goes, are hanging out together day and night. The film is about the end of their friendship.

Once there, hijinks ensue when the teams are forced to travel in local cars that are notorious for their unreliability. Many teams have breakdowns and are forced to get new cars, or have mechanical work done. Once they've navigated their way, they arrive at a Detour: Catapault Crash or Cannonball Run. Immediately, the second Detour proves to be much easier than the first. After the teams complete the Detour, they receive a clue telling them to catch a train into Budapest, then travel by taxi to the Net Klub Internet Cafe where they'll receive an online clue. By the end of the episode, one team couldn't catch a train into Budapest until the next day so they were far behind. The other six teams had arrived at the cafe, which hadn't yet opened.
