- With their trendy magazine for alternative tourism, Claudia and Michael have successfully turned their passion for travel into a profession. The independent publicists, however, always work to the limit and neglect their marriage and their pubescent son Jonas, who was left sitting for the second time. The unexpected death of her mother Maria, whom she could hardly see due to her busy schedule, hits Claudia hard. Now, of all times, she discovers that her husband is secretly meeting a young, attractive employee. In response to this shock, she first needs some distance. Despite urgent business appointments, she spontaneously decides to accompany her father Rainer on his last voyage with his old cargo ship. The weird inland boatman, who for decades sailed up and down the Rhine with his beloved wife, wants to scatter her ashes in the river. On the leisurely chugging boat, Claudia gradually clears her head again. The reunion with her childhood friend Jan, who is still in love with her, opens up new perspectives. Meanwhile, Michael regrets his escapade and surprisingly comes on board. Claudia cannot be satisfied with a simple apology.

- This film takes you past all the most famous castles, each of which is the subject of hundreds of legends. First, we see Koenigswinter and the crumbling ruins of the Dragon's Rock. In quick succession follow Linz, Anderach and the Fortress of Ehren-breitstein. Next comes one of the most famous sights of the Rhine, the monument to Emperor William. And then the Lorelei, the Oberweisel, and the ruins of Schonburg, and, passing through the Rhine Palatine, we come upon Kaub and the Castle of Gutenfels. Amongst others we see the famous Rheinstein and Sonneck castles, and, finally, at Bingen itself, the Mouse, or Hatto's, Tower, and the vineyards of Redesheim. This film is pregnant with interest, giving a true representation of the splendid scenery of this magnificent and incomparable river, and calling to mind the innumerable tales and myths of quaint old German folklore, which spreads its misty veil upon the dark and mysterious waters.
- Star Wars, Star Trek, Indiana Jones, Mad Max, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter: famed film and novel series that have become cultural phenomena that captivate millions of people worldwide. In Germany, too, there is now a considerable scene of various "fandoms", ie fan communities in which people pursue their passion for such fantastic worlds together. But what are those people dressing up as orcs or Indiana Jones in their spare time, who can speak every sentence of their favorite characters in the Star Wars movies? Are they all just "crazy nerds" who are nothing to do better with their time? On the contrary, even though many people may consider such a cultic worship of fictional persons and stories strange, these are now popular and varied hobbies. For true fans, the subject matter of their dream becomes a constant companion in everyday life, offering refuge and arousing enthusiasm. Often, it even influences the career aspirations or lifestyle, thus becoming a "calling". The film project Fandom Germany accompanies supporters of various fan cultures in Germany, explores their fascination and reflects their passion. In doing so, they are held with unprejudiced eyes and respect. It's about informing what big sci-fi and fantasy supporters there are in Germany and shows how its members organize and exchange ideas here. We therefore address a wide range of issues: Can differences be made between the fans in other nations? Are there any fundamental differences between the supporters of different fan communities? What legal peculiarities arise at meetings in Germany? After all, costumes and outfits are often based on billions of "intellectual properties" in the global entertainment industry. Furthermore, some prominent researchers, especially film and media scientists, who deal with such a fanatic in their academic work, report in the context of the film on their respective subject of investigation. Here is a motivating question, why many people lose so obsessively in fictitious worlds, but in which their attraction may well be dangers.
