There are approximately 5,300 colleges in the United States, only 101 of them are Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCUs), and 13 of them are Seventh-Day Adventist institutions. There is only ONE Seventh-Day Adventist HBCU - Oakwood University. Oakwood University comes with a very unique set of rules such as no jewelry, no alcohol, and you must attend chapel every week. The campus also promotes healthy living so meat is not served on the campus grounds. While the school might have what some consider strict rules it also has a very rich history. The campus was initially a slave plantation worked by the famous former slave Dred Scott. Oakwood University is literally the only college if its kind. Prepare to laugh, maybe cry, and be inspired as individuals recount their personal experiences at the very unique Oakwood University in this feature length film.
