- Seth who by now is prone to fits of fury due to his now hideous appearance deserts the defenders in a fit of rage. The rest of the Defenders stop to help a caravan of refugees fleeing the war ravaged countryside for the safety of the Arboth, unaware that Brackus and his Mercenaries are descending on the village of Arboth as well, having identified it as the source of the Di-Gata stones from which the pure stones are carved. The Defenders choose to stay and, against all odds, help the peaceful Arbothians repel the invaders. The cause seems hopeless until Seth, having remembered his calling and his duty, returns to save the day.
- The Defenders have chosen their course; they have refused to re-cast the Spell of Binding as their mentor Professor Alnar had ordered. Are they simply naïve in thinking they can stop the cycle of violence? Or are they heralding a new era of peace? With Nazmul locked in a stone and Brackus banished, they take on the Megalith.
- The Monastery burns as Malco and Flinch, powerful agents of the Order Infinis tear it apart looking for The Key. With the help of a bizarre creature named Zad, the Defenders sneak into the monastery and make their way up to the Key chamber. The key within reach, the Defenders must face Malco in a titanic Di-Gata battle while the future of Rados hangs in the balance!
- On their way to the Monastery of Amos-Yan to recover The Key, a device which will lead them to the four pure stones, Seth and his fellow Di-Gata Defenders are ambushed by a band of thieves. The inexperienced Defenders find themselves trapped and only escape with the aid of the roguish and mysterious Adam. Meanwhile, agents of the dreaded Order of Infinis, an evil organization intent on the release of the Megalith, arrive at the monastery ahead of the Defenders.
- The Defenders secret training is interrupted when an earthquake signals that the monstrously evil Megalith is breaking free. Their mentor, Professor Alnar reveals to them that their training will not be completed. They must immediately embark on a dangerous mission to re-imprison the Megalith by recovering the four Pure Stones. Before the Defenders can leave the Dojo and start on their epic quest they are attacked by a vicious Rock Serpent and must face their first full on Di-Gata Battle!
- After an attack by a Zad, Kara gets spirited away to the Dark Realm.
- When the Defenders learn of the black market Guardian dealer Si'i, they pose as interested customers.
- After the Defenders discover that Doku and a group of warlords are planning to take control of Rados, Seth gets wounded as a result of Rion jumping in to an attack.
- On the run from Malco and Flinch and The Sand Nomads who have overrun the Dojo, Mel and Erik encounter Bo, a brash young stone slinger who tells them of a warrior cult competition being held in a nearby county. They quickly realize the trophy is nothing other than one of the prized pure stones. As Mel and Erik make their way into the heart of the enemy camp and fight their way to the trophy, Seth carries a gravely ill Kara into the Ban Yo swamp in search of the antidote that will save her life.
- Erik, Rion and Brackus head to the island of Rivas to meet up with Seth and Mel and help find Brim the stonecutter.
- When a mining village is terrorized by Kid Cole, Erik and Rion respond to the call for help while Seth and Mel go in search of Malco and Flinch.
- Flinch coerces the Zads into an alliance with the Ethos
- Mel has a vision of the temple of Yan-Sumos, an ancient battleground where the Wizards of Yan fought the Ethos.
- Mel learns that one of the pieces of the Celestial Abyss is at the Temple of Yan-Mara.
- Under Malco's orders, Zads break into Gata-Shin prison and take Si'i.
- When the Defenders set out to find the second icon, they encounter competition from the wizard, Kor who has been resurrected by Malco.
- Seth is finding life difficult trying to adjust to the loss of his arm and Erik tries to help by building him a bionic arm.
- When Seth's arm is gravely injured during a surprise attack by K'Tahsh, the Defenders travel to Mau-data to heal him where they find Adam.
- After almost causing the destruction of Arboth, Seth decides to leave the other Defenders.
- Adam and Erik rescue a seemingly innocent Maiden, only to discover that she isn't quite the victim she made herself out to be.
- With the help of Rion, Mel escapes Lady K'tahsh but the Ethos have captured Si'I, a monstrously powerful guardian!
- With The Key in hand, the Defenders and Adam, set off to find the first Pure Stone. Unknown to Seth and the others, the Order of Infinis has hired the Realm's most feared bounty hunter, Snare, to track them down. A feud breaks out between Seth and Adam, escalating into a full fledged Di-Gata battle. With everyone distracted, Snare makes his move.
- To rescue Kara from the Mortagarian's underwater realm, the Defenders are forced to steal the Tome of Al Mortagar (an ancient book that holds the secret to the original Sigils of power) and exchange it for Kara's freedom.
- Mel discovers that the vial keeping the trapped Ethos they captured from Von Faustien is missing and the Defenders suspect Roodu and Azura.
- When Brackus and Rion are sprayed by a creature that makes them fall in love with Mel, Seth takes over Roodu and Azura's training.
