- Grijpstra and De Gier investigate a singer's rape charges against her boss, record label owner Leon Latour. Later it turns out that she lied. Shortly after, Latour is found murdered. Possible suspects include a jealous singer and her mother, and a former singer and acquaintance of Latour.
- Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the murder on an underworld banker. When they arrest one of the suspects, the man is shot from a moving car. De Gier is distracted by the return of his estranged father.
- Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the disappearance of a 15 year-old girl from a community home with very liberal ideas about sexuality amongst the inhabitants. Grijpstra thinks she just ran away- years ago he searched for her mother who ran away with a boyfriend. Shortly after, she is found dead. A possible suspect is a Swiss man previously prosecuted for child molestation.
- After a young boy is mistakenly shot in a botched assassination attempt, Grijpstra and De Gier try to find the culprit.
- A controversial right-winged politician receives a bullet along with a threatening letter, but doesn't take it seriously and refuses police protection. When he is murdered shortly after, Grijpstra and De Gier suspect it to be a politically motivated murder. They also discover the man's younger brother is addicted to drugs and was about to be sent to a Scottish boarding school by him. Also, he once ran into a young girl, leaving her severely disabled, prompting suspicions that her father may have been out for revenge.
- Grijpstra and De Gier are in for a bizarre case when they find a praying Native American on the street with blood on his hands. Soon after, a dead man is found in the canal, and Grijpstra and De Gier save a man who was buried alive. Another death follows, and there may be a connection to the deaths and the four hemispheres of the Earth.
- While jogging, De Gier falls into a mysterious grave-shaped hole. The next day, it is closed, and when a curious De Gier starts digging he finds the body of a known animal liberation activist. He appears to have died of infection after being shot with police ammunition. Possible suspects include his family, a police officer and the ruthless Animal Liberation Front leader. Hetty is having mysterious phone conversations, and Cardozo thinks someone is blackmailing her. De Gier shadows her and discovers that she is secretly working as a call-girl.
- Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the death of a fellow police detective whose corpse is missing its right arm. They search for the culprit in a brothel. The detective's parter visits the police station and turns out to be an old mentor of Grijpstra. De Gier's fear of commitment plays up when he and Hetty are looking for a house to buy, prompting her to leave him- and the police station- for good.
- Businessman Rudolf Berkenrode has been hit by a car, leaving him brain-dead. Grijpstra and De Gier investigate, and discover that he owned a stretch of land including a shelter for victims of spousal abuse, whose owner blackmailed Berkenrode. He was also fighting with his stepdaughter. Cardozo discovers a connection between Berkenrode and Hetty.
- While De Gier is eating at a Surinamish toko restaurant owned by some friends, a man and women come in and threaten the owners. Later, the father of the family is found murdered. Grijpstra has won a caravan and tries to sell it.
- Jelte Rosier is contacted by a man who tells him he is about to be assassinated, and that he can help him. Grijpstra doesn't take it very seriously when Rosier reports it at the police station, but Cardozo discovers that the mysterious man is a known criminal. When bringing the man home, Cardozo sees two women kissing in a car, one of which he thinks is Rosier's wife. To solve the case, Hetty must go undercover, to De Gier's dismay.
- Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the beating of a teacher at a school. All signs point towards a trouble-making Moroccan student mentored by her.
- Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the murder of a beautiful young woman, and meet a man who is obsessed with dating women. The man reminds De Gier, who just got himself a new girlfriend again, of himself. The case escalates when Hetty disappears.
- While in hypnotic therapy, Karin Mijbrecht remembers that she was raped by her father as a child. Grijpstra and De Gier are unsure about the reliability of her memories, and discover clues pointing in a different direction at a hospital where she was treated. Cardozo has followed a course on efficient management and spends the day annoying his colleagues.
- Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the murder on an unorthodox priest who sheltered homeless junkies. Possible suspects are the junkies themselves, and a pimp who was afraid the man might convince his prostitutes to stop working. The case is slowed by the fact that most of the police force has been sent to a fire on a retirement home; it later turns the niece of the chief's wife died in the disaster.
- Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the murder on American jazz singer Val Collidge. Nora Savior, Grijpstra's favorite singer, may be related to the case. Grijpstra celebrates his 25th anniversary at the police station.
- Apparently investigating on his own, Cardozo is shot by a criminal and ends up in the hospital in critical condition. Grijpstra and De Gier try to find the shooter. Cardozo's girlfriend blames Grijpstra for the incident- he was always putting Cardozo down, and Cardozo wanted to prove that he was a capable police investigator. De Gier and Hetty finally get together.
- De Gier's crazy neighbor, Walther Steenman, claims that someone is trying to assassinate him. De Gier doesn't believe him, but then he and Grijpstra find a bullet hole in his house, and his wife is hospitalized after a car ran into her. It turns out that he is being mistaken for a prime witness in a trial against a top criminal. Grijpstra and De Gier want to help him, but are troubled by higher-ups who are afraid they will hamper the case against the criminal. A missing file turns up in Hetty's purse.
- Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the murder on a Buddhist monk. Possible suspects include a junkie, a rivaling monk and a butcher who blames the monk for the death of his daughter.
- Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the murder on Marcel Corbijn, who was impaled with a harpoon. His father is a former colleague of the commissioner. Connections to an old trial are found, as well as a secret bank account on the Caiman Islands.
- Grijpstra and De Gier witness a prisoner falling to his death in a prison stairwell while preparing to transport another prisoner. The man was pushed, and possible culprits are a woman who was left disabled after receiving toxic XTC from him, a public prosecutor who lost his daughter to toxic XTC she also got from him, and two scheming gay prisoners.
- Grijpstra gets into trouble after hitting a young boy who tossed fireworks at a stray dog befriended by him. Meanwhile, he and De Gier investigate a gruesome murder in a retirement community. The culprit may be in an adjacent hard-rock café.
- Grijpstra is devastated when his aunt is murdered, and quickly becomes too involved in the case. Further problems arise when his long-lost son may have been the culprit, and two other detectives come to the police station questioning him about obstructing the investigation.
- Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the murder on a middle-aged woman. During the investigation, De Gier comes across a girl he knows, and discovers that her boyfriend is a lover-boy. Hetty returns.
- Former singer Dora Dorado falls out of her stairs lift and dies. Possible suspects include her much younger husband, her son and a painter who has his workshop in her house. The chief is pained by his rheumatoid arthritis.
