I was born "Angel Andres Garet Gutierrez" on September 3rd, 1986 in Caracas, Venezuela. I am the son of Emilio Garet (born in Uruguay with French and Spanish descent) and Beatriz Gutierrez (born in Peru). My parents divorced when I was 12. My mother took full custody of my sister and me. After living a few years in Caracas, we moved to the United States in 2002 and made our home in Charlotte, NC.
I played varsity soccer in high school and I was part of a competitive soccer club. After graduating in 2006, I went to South Georgia College on a full soccer and cross country scholarship, where I earned my Associates Degree in Science of Criminal Justice in 2010.
Right after graduation, I moved back to Charlotte, NC to be near my family. Playing sports allowed me to develop a great physique, which helped me get attention in the modeling field. Within a year, I was represented by an agency, appeared in many runway shows, print jobs, and shot some commercials. I was starting to get into acting and becoming curious about story telling.
In 2012, I was eager to learn everything about movies, TV shows and theater. I took as many classes as I could and took any job opportunity to learn the business. I was blessed with the chance to be an extra in the first Hunger Games movie that filmed in NC. That movie led me to develop a great passion and love for acting and telling stories. Later that year, I knew I had to aim higher, be bold and take a risk. I packed my all my bags, quit my job and drove across the country with just one destination in my mind: "Hollywood"- Cinematographer
