Joe Dante is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Art. After a stint as a film reviewer, he began his filmmaking apprenticeship in 1974 as trailer editor for Roger Corman's New World Pictures. He made his directorial debut in 1976 with Hollywood Boulevard (1976) (co-directed with Allan Arkush), a thinly disguised spoof of New World exploitation pictures, shot in ten days for $60,000.
In 1977 Dante made his solo debut as a film director with Piranha (1978), which went on to become one of the company's biggest hits and was distributed throughout the rest of the world by United Artists. During his tenure at New World, Dante edited Ron Howard's directorial debut Grand Theft Auto (1977) and co-wrote the original story for Rock 'n' Roll High School (1979).
For Avco-Embassy Dante next directed the highly praised werewolf thriller The Howling (1981), followed by the It's a Good Life segment of the episodic Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983).

Dante followed up with Explorers (1985) for Paramount, a sci-fi fantasy about three kids who build their own spaceship, and then Innerspace (1987) for Guber/Peters, Amblin and Warner Bros., an action comedy in which miniaturized test pilot Dennis Quaid is injected into the body of supermarket clerk Martin Short.
Tom Hanks starred in Dante's next film for Imagine/Universal, The 'Burbs (1989), which was followed by Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) for Warner Bros. in 1990. By only 16 years old Dante Brown had established himself as a bonafide "one to watch" talent in the entertainment industry, known not only for the diverse and engaging characters he has brought to life on screen, but also for excelling in music, dance and creating innovate online content to connect with Generation Z. This fall 2016 Dante can be seen on FOX's highly anticipated, new series "Lethal Weapon." Set to premiere just before Empire on September 21, the show is based off the 1987 film, and follows Roger Murtaugh [Damon Wayans Sr.] and Martin Riggs [Clayne Crawford] as a pair of mismatched L.A.P.D. detectives. Dante shines as Roger "R.J." Murtaugh Jr, Murtaugh's good but slightly rebellious teenage son who is trying to carve out his own place in the world outside of his parents' expectations.
Born and raised in Chicago, Dante began acting and modeling as a baby, quickly landing campaigns for Keebler and Sears within a month of getting started. His bubbly and charismatic personality was nurtured by his parents, whom along with industry pros, identified the "it" factor in their baby boy. One of Dante's big breaks came when he was only 5 years old, when he caught the attention of Oprah Winfrey. After auditioning with over 500 children, Dante was chosen to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show's first "Amazing Kids" episode, featuring Jay Leno as host. Dante was able to showcase his talents in comedy, acting and dance. His performance on the show solidified him as one of Oprah's "All-Time Smartest and Most Talented Kids." By 2012 Dante had become a popular face in Young Hollywood, racking up dozens of credits in television and film and embracing his new nickname deemed by casting directors and growing fans, a "Young Denzel Washington".
His first feature, the Lifetime movie "America" which he appeared alongside Rosie O'Donnell, landed him a Young Artist Award Nomination in 2009 for "Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries or Special - Supporting Young Actor." It was only up from there, as Dante went on to appear on a plethora of TV series including NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," Michael Bay and TNT's "The Last Ship," Showtime's "Shameless," Nickelodeon's "Henry Danger," NBC's "Community," NBC's "Southland," and CBS' "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service," to name a few. Dante held his first series regular role in 2015, co-starring opposite comedian Craig Robinson on NBC's "Mr. Robinson." On the film front, Dante made his feature debut in 2012 appearing alongside Oscar Nominated, Emmy Winner Viola Davis and Maggie Gyllenhaal in "Won't Back Down" for Twentieth Century Fox Films. Summer 2016 placed Dante in production filming the short, Black Doves, as one of the lead characters alongside his brother Dusan Brown.
When not on set you can find Dante in the recording studio, laying down tracks under his moniker "DanteThePoet." A Grammy Camp alumni and independent artist, Dante takes the blueprint of Childish Gambino, the lyricism of Kendrick Lamar, and the hustle-nomics and genius of Kanye West, to create a sound that is on the forefront of hip hop music, inspiring and uplifting other post-millennial teens, like himself. As to be expected, Dante's working on recording his debut album, and plans to release his 2nd mixtape, "Bipolar" as a Back to School event via www.Soundcloud.com/DanteThePoet.
Dante also has a passion for creating scripted projects - over the past few months he's been writing his first animated series which he hopes to be able to pitch to networks, within the year, and is the co-creator of Talking with The Brown Boys [YouTube Webisode] alongside his younger brother Dusan. Although acting has been Dante's bread and butter over the years, his music, a strong second, Dante is also a self taught dancer, taking first place at the Monsters of Hip Hop Freestyle Battle, and has future plans and aspirations to launch an innovative, cool teen clothing line.
On the charity front, Dante has big ideas for how he wants to give back to the community in the near future including launching a youth concert entitled DanteThePoet + Friends, which will showcase local teen, rising stars, and provide youth a fun, safe place to gather with their friends every month. In today's political climate with police brutality on the rise, gun violence, gang violence, and teen drug abuse, Dante has made it a personal goal to set a good example for youth, bringing awareness to various organizations who work to uplift young, Black men and women in Dante's hometown of Chicago, as well as where he resides with his family, Los Angeles.- Manager

Born Carmine Granito in Staten Island, New York, Ron Dante knew he wanted to be a singer from a very young age. A childhood fall from a tree resulted in a broken arm and, fortuitously, the choice of either squeezing a rubber ball in the afflicted hand or taking up guitar as a means to keep the muscles from atrophying. Ron chose the latter. Making the rounds at New York City's famed Brill Building, where tunesmiths worked diligently in cubicles cranking out hit songs, Ron met several folks who would have a hand in shaping his career. One was Don Kirshner, who along with his partner Al Nevins, had founded the publishing company "Aldon Music". The others were Paul Vance and Lee Pockriss, a songwriting team who had had a few successes with tunes such as "Catch a Falling Star" and "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini".
After recording several singles under the name "Ronnie Dante", Ron teamed up with two other staff writers/session singers, Danny Jordan (Vance's nephew) and Tommy Wynn to record a demo of a hilarious parody of the current The Shangri-Las' hit "Leader of the Pack" written by Vance and Pockriss and entitled "Leader of the Laundromat". The song charted, and the three young men toured the country as the group The Detergents, often actually appearing on the same bill with The Shangri-Las. In 1968, when his old buddy Don Kirshner was tapped as music director for the upcoming Saturday morning cartoon The Archie Show (1968), Ron auditioned for and won the role as the lead singing voice for the animated group The Archies. Over the course of the next three years, Ron, along with songwriter-producer Jeff Barry, cranked out over 100 Archies tunes, the most popular unarguably being the #1 hit of 1969, "Sugar, Sugar". While this single was at the top of the charts, Ron also had another single in the Top Ten at the same time, the Vance/Pockriss-penned "Tracy". Ron was anonymous on both records; "Tracy", along with a whole album's worth of material recorded by a multi-tracked Ron, was released under the name The Cuff Links.
During and after his stint as The Archies and The Cuff Links, Ron was also working as a jingle singer, recording commercials for such companies as Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Coppertone. He briefly enjoyed a solo career before turning his sights to production. During a session in the studio one day, he met the writer of the jingle he was working on. The product they were pitching was a new soft drink that very quickly went flat, but that day the die was cast for a friendship and lucrative partnership between Ron and Barry Manilow. Ron listened to some of Barry's compositions, liked what he heard, and offered to work with the talented young man if Barry would break away from Bette Midler, with whom he was working as arranger and pianist, and record under his own name. The rest is music history. Ron produced all of Barry's platinum LPs and 18 Top Ten singles from 1973 through 1981. He also did production work for Cher, Irene Cara, Pat Benatar and John Denver.
After years of production work, Ron decided to pick up the singing career he'd briefly put on hold. Ron's CD, "Favorites", remakes of several tunes from the '60s originally recorded by The Grass Roots, The Association and others, hit the stores in late 1999, and his newest CD, '"on Dante's Saturday Night Blast", featuring tracks such as "Old Time Rock and Roll", "Rockin' Robin", "Angels Among Us" and more, was released in September 2004. Ron regularly performs in concert with other classic pop music luminaries such as Andy Kim and Peter Noone, and he is once again doing production work in his adopted hometown of Los Angeles, California.- Actor

Dante Alighieri was born in 1265 into the lower nobility of Florence, to Alighiero di Bellincione d'Alighiero, a moneylender. A precocious student, Dante's education focused on rhetoric and grammar. He also became enamored with a young girl, Beatrice Portinari, whose death in 1290 threw a grieving Dante into intense religious studies. Though the Alighieri family had managed to avoid entanglement in the power struggles between the Ghibelline and Guelf families for control of Florence, Dante allied himself with the democratic Guelfs and married a member of that clan, Gemma di Manetto Donati, in 1285.
After serving in the Guelf forces as a cavalryman in the Battle of Campaldino, Dante enrolled in the Guild of Doctors and Pharmacists and became politically active. He became an ambassador and a prior, but after finding himself on the opposite side of the political party in power he was forced to flee Florence in 1301, never able to return to the city of his birth. He narrowly escaped being executed for treason.
Dante left for Verona and Ravenna, where he was joined by his children. He then wrote his most famous work, "Commedia", not in scholarly Latin but in the vernacular Italian of the time, giving his countrymen a literature of their own. In it he would resurrect the love of his youth, Beatrice, giving her a place among the angels. This work would also take the author, escorted by the Roman poet Publius Vergilius Maro, on a grand tour to Hell and Purgatory, and later by his beloved Beatrice to Paradise. History would later judge Dante's creation to be divine. Dante Alighieri died in 1321 and was buried in Ravenna. Three sons--Pietro, Jacopo and Giovanni--and a daughter, Antonia, survived him.- Producer

Dante Tomaselli, an American Film Director and Electronic Music Composer, studied filmmaking at Brooklyn's Pratt Institute, then transferred to the New York School of Visual Arts, receiving a B.F.A. degree there. His first film was a 23-minute short called, Desecration, which was screened at a variety of horror and mainstream film festivals and venues. Tomaselli expanded Desecration, which he also wrote, to feature length. And in 1999, the film received its world premiere to a standing-room-only audience at the Fantafestival in Rome. The release of Desecration (1999) on VHS and DVD by Image Entertainment resulted in laudatory notices unique for an independent horror production. Made on the minuscule budget of $150,000, Desecration received instantaneous acclaim for its nightmarish visuals. The supernatural chiller quickly established itself as a modern horror cult favorite. Tomaselli has been a lifelong supernatural/horror aficionado and is also the cousin of film director/production designer Alfred Sole, whose Alice Sweet Alice (1976), made its own mark in the world of Catholic-themed horror films 40 years ago.
His second feature film, Horror (2003), began principle photography January 15, 2001, in Warwick, upstate New York. Final cost of production and post production: $250,000. Horror, a visually arresting chiller, had a group of runaway teens escape from a drug rehab and encounter demonic forces in a rural farmhouse. In a bizarre casting stunt, the film starred celebrity mentalist/magician, Kreskin. Dante Tomaselli's Horror was released on DVD in the United States and Canada by Elite Entertainment. "Gothic surrealism...Can't help but impress with its lush, unsettling textural confidence, rich in atmosphere...distinctly ominous..." --Variety magazine
Tomaselli then directed his third feature, Satan's Playground (2006). Distributed by Anchor Bay Entertainment, Satan's Playground starred 70s & early 80s cult-horror icons Ellen Sandweiss (The Evil Dead), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) and Edwin Neal (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre). "Richly atmospheric exercise in surreal horror...The director achieves impressive overall results...complex music/ambient audio design...beautifully menacing photography...Tomaselli creates a hyper-real atmosphere of striking primal-fear images, cackling lunacy, impending doom and grotesque humor...Belying very modest means, Tomaselli has delivered a design and tech package that's first-rate." --Variety magazine
Torture Chamber (2013), the fourth installment in his nightmarish journey exploring the imaginations of Hell and damnation, made its World Premiere at Sitges 2012 Festival in Spain. Torture Chamber was released by Cinedigm on January 28, 2014. "A deep drop into an audio-visual rabbit hole...Traps its audience in an environment and won't let them go...Meticulously designed...Dedicated and unrelenting with just enough set up to hook you...Those who like to get lost in cinema and allow themselves to take a trip will find this film unforgettable." --Fangoria
The director/composer's first audio CD of electronic horror music, ''Scream in the Dark'' (2014) was released by Elite Entertainment & MVD Audio on January 14, 2014. Its follow-up, ''The Doll'' (2014) described as "a ghoulish experiment in fear," was released on CD and Digital download by Elite Entertainment & MVD Audio on April 15, 2014. Tomaselli's third dark ambient album, "Nightmare" (2015) was distributed by the same label on January 13, 2015. TuneCore released his fourth album, "Witches" (2017) on March 24, 2017. Rue Morgue Magazine awarded Witches 5 Skulls, "A meticulously crafted work...Tomaselli takes us on his most lurid sonic journey to date." Rock! Shock! Pop! added, "Pulsing John Carpenter-esque keyboard work...spooky soundtrack inspired instrumental music." Videoscope Magazine's music critic, Tim Ferrante stated, "Each cut ignites theater-of-the-mind wonderment, fear and the spiritual world by deeply boring into the psyche...Tomaselli has produced a fiendish and furtive album for fans of 'mood music' of a different kind." Dante Tomaselli's Witches was nominated for Rue Morgue magazine 2017 album of the year.
On August 7, 2018 Code Red and Kino Lorber released his debut film, "Desecration" on Blu-ray. As a bonus, the disc included his fourth musical album, "Witches." Author Maitland McDonagh reviewed the horror movie in Film Comment magazine. "Eerie...painterly...Desecration is a low budget masterpiece of dream logic."
On July 4th, 2019 TuneCore released his fifth album of sensory electronic music, "Out-of-Body Experience" (2019). Rue Morgue magazine said, "Dante Tomaselli's album stays within the composer/filmmaker's realm of deeply immersive audio experiences...Each cue marks a turn or descending stairwell that reverberates with techno beats, melting synth chords and benthic drones that perpetually shape-shift and swirl across the stereo image...5 Skulls." Chris Alexander, Editor-in-Chief, Delirium magazine proclaimed, "For nearly two decades, New Jersey-born horror multi-hyphenate Dante Tomaselli has been steadily creating a series of surreal, expressionist horror films that favor bizarre imagery and all-encompassing sound designs over traditional narrative structure and logic. That's what makes them so special: pictures like Horror, Desecration and Torture Chamber. And when Tomaselli isn't making movies, he's releasing movies-for-your-mind with his unique conceptual aural-horror CD's like The Doll, Witches, Nightmare and Out-of-Body Experience."
