Born in Ixelles/Etterbeek (part of Brussels) from an Italian father and a French mother, Giani Esposito first lived in Paris and then grew up in Italy between 1939 and 1949. He became an actor in French cinema from 1951 on, starting with a bit part in Maitre après Dieu (1951) by Louis Daquin. Around the same time he started a singing career, performing at the cabarets La Rose Rouge and L'Ecluse, and became successful with the song Le Clown in 1957. From 1958 on he recorded both his poems and his songs. He also published some books and did illustrations. In 1959 he met Pascale Petit who became his partner. In 1966 their daughter Douchka was born
Until 1971 Esposito acted in many French and some Italian films, such as Huis clos (Jacqueline Audry 1954), French cancan (Jean Renoir 1955), Les mauvaises rencontres (Alexandre Astruc 1955), Les Misérables (Jean-Paul Le Chanois 1957/1958), Paris nous appartient (Jacques Rivette 1960), and Il Decameron (Pier Paolo Pasolini 1971). Between 1957 and 1973 Esposito also played in telefilms and television series. In 1971 he met Ersie Pittas, niece of the Greek director Michael Cacoyannis, and started a show in which he recited poems while he danced, touring around France in 1972-1973. With an overload of projects and plans Gianni Esposito was struck by a viral hepatitis and a brain tumor in late 1973, and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine, on New Year's Day 1 January 1974.- Vivienne Chatterton had a remarkable radio career that lasted more than 50 years. She rarely appeared in other mediums after the 1930s. She was first heard as a soprano in a concert broadcast for the Marconi company in 1922. She also appeared in concerts and light opera for 2LO London, precursor of the BBC. She was Sarah Gamp in "A Pickwick Party", broadcast at Christmas 1926 and 1927. Also in 1927 she played the title role in the musical "Irene". By the mid-30s she was mostly in drama, mostly in character roles. She appeared in hundreds of editions of "Children's Hour". In 1936 she appeared with Tod Slaughter in "Sweeney Todd". She made a rare TV appearance in "Thomas or Sally or The Sailor's Return", first broadcast 10.4.37 and repeated 16.11.37. Back on radio she was typically cast as fussy spinster Miss Bourne in Arnold Ridley's "The Ghost Train" (1940). Occasionally in comedy, she was in "Much Binding in the Marsh" (1947) and later in "Dear Me" (1951) with Michael Howard and "Fine Goings On"(1958) with Frankie Howerd. Her longest-running role was Mrs Mountford in the daily soap opera "Mrs Dale's Diary", which she played from 1950 to 1963. In the re-vamped version, "The Dales", she played different characters from 1963-66. In 1963 she was rewarded by being cast away on "Desert Island Discs". As her luxury she chose insect repellent. Later important roles were in "Middlemarch" (1965), "The Crucible" (1970), as Florence Nightingale's mother in "The Lady with a Lamp" (1970), and Rudyard Kipling's "Kim" (1970). She appeared less frequently in the 1970s, but was notable in "L'Arlesienne" (1972), Noel Coward's "Waiting in the Wings" (1973) and "The Man Born to Be King" (1975). Her last radio appearance was in "Serjeant Musgrave's Dance" (1976), broadcast after her death.

Her first serial, as far as is known, was The Great Secret (1917). She alternated between serial work and one-reel comedies for Universal and other studios and appeared in The Voice on the Wire (1917), the first of nine serials she would make with producer/director Ben F. Wilson (to whom she was not, as has been erroneously reported, married). She made some first-rate westerns with Harry Carey and a series of very cheap ones with the deservedly obscure Dick Hatton (who, according to veteran stuntman and director Yakima Canutt, was terrified of three things--guns, horses and the outdoors). She then reteamed with Wilson to make westerns, adventures and serials again, winding up her career with The Voice from the Sky (1929). After Wilson died later that year, she retired from films. She died in Palm Springs, California, in 1974.

Cliff Lyons was an American actor, stuntman and second-unit director, primarily of Westerns, particularly the films of John Ford and John Wayne.
Lyons, the son of Garrett Thomas Lyons and Wilhamena Johnson Lyons, was raised on a South Dakota farm, though his family lived for a time in Memphis, TN, where he attended business school. An expert horseman, he gave up the notion of a business career and opted for the rodeo arena instead, touring the country and eventually reaching Los Angeles at the age of 21. With accomplished cowboys in great demand, Lyons quickly became involved in movies, working both as a stuntman and actor. After only a couple of bit parts, he was signed by low-budget producer Bud Barsky to do seven inexpensive Westerns directed by Paul Hurst, with Lyons and Al Hoxie alternating as the hero and the heavy. Lyons and Hoxie alternated in another Western series produced by Morris R. Schlank, and, as Cliff "Tex" Lyons, he seemed headed for minor stardom as a B-Western lead.
Unfortunately, Lyons' voice was not well-suited for sound and the talkie revolution confined him to small roles. As his small shot at stardom faded, however, his career as a stunt double for stars big and small was on the rise. He doubled such cowboy stars as Tom Mix, Ken Maynard, Buck Jones and Johnny Mack Brown. In 1936 he worked with John Wayne for the first and struck up a personal and business relationship that would remain strong for three decades. Wayne was influential in getting Lyons his first work as a second-unit director and in introducing Lyons to John Ford, for whom Lyons would do some of his finest work. Lyons' reputation as a stunt coordinator is comparable to that of acknowledged master Yakima Canutt, with whom Lyons partnered on numerous occasions. Perhaps Lyons' most impressive work was the massive and dynamic battle sequences of Wayne's The Alamo (1960).
He was married from 1938-55 to actress Beth Marion, with whom he had two sons. Cliff Lyons died in 1974 at 72, not long after coordinating stunts for Wayne's The Train Robbers (1973).- Producer
