    • Liz Carr

      1. Liz Carr

      • Actress
      • Additional Crew
      Silent Witness (2013–2020)
Liz grew up in Bebington, England where she lived until she went to Nottingham University in 1990 to study law. After graduating with an LLB in Law, she volunteered in a law centre and became a campaigner for civil rights for Disabled people in the UK and internationally. It wasn't until 2000 that she began to tread the boards when she co-founded the comedy group, Nasty Girls. In 2003, Liz studied performing arts with Graeae Theatre Company and London Met University and played the eponymous 'Mother Courage' in the final touring production. Following this, Liz was part of the first ever Disabled women's reading of 'The Vagina Monologues', took to the main stage at The Young Vic theatre, London in another Brecht, 'The Exception and the Rule' and then toured with the Graeae production of Moliere's 'George Dandin' the following year.

Liz's first job with the BBC was as a columnist for the website Ouch! before becoming co-host with American Horror Story (2011) actor, Mat Fraser, of the infamous Ouch podcast. In 2005 she joined the comedy group Abnormally Funny People and her stand up debut with them was filmed for a documentary on Sky TV. She was a finalist in the Funny Women competition 2006 and in 2007 she was runner up in the Hackney Empire New Act competition. She has taken 6 shows to Edinburgh Fringe, 2 shows to Melbourne Comedy Festival, toured all over the world with her comedy, her cabaret and with her one woman show, 'It Hasn't Happened Yet'. She wrote the book and lyrics for her show, 'Assisted Suicide The Musical' which she performed to sell out audiences at the Royal Festival Hall, London in 2016 and 2017.

On screen, Liz is perhaps best known for her role as forensic examiner Clarissa Mullery in the BBC's long running drama, Silent Witness (1996) alongside Emilia Fox, David Caves and Richard Lintern. She joined the series in 2012 but almost missed out on the role when she got stuck in traffic and turned up too late for the audition. This was Liz's first TV acting role and over the next seven series, her character Clarissa has grown from a sidekick to a main part of the regular cast.

A self-titled debut album appeared in January of 1980 followed closely in September by "Organization," which produced the band's first UK top 10 hit "Enola Gay." Many albums followed through the 1980s with "Architeture and Morality" in 1981, "Dazzle Ships" in 1983, "Junk Culture" in 1984, and "Crush" in 1985, which produced the band's first US Top 40 hit "So in Love" -- which began a small American chart run for the group. Following 1986's "The Pacific Age," the Best of album was released in 1988. OMD kept their UK fan base throughout the 90s with albums like 1991's "Sugar Tax," but failed to recapture the major success they had in the 1980s. In 1998, McCluskey pieced together a UK pop female trio called Atomic Kitten, a band which currently is referred to as the new Spice Girls.

    • 14. Kieran Stokes

      • Actor
      Hide
Kieran Stokes was born on 19th January 1993, in Birkenhead, England. He attended St Josephs Catholic Primary School in Birkenhead, England. He then went on to St John Plessington Catholic College, in Bebington, England. Kieran's parents split when he was 11 years old. He resides in Prenton, Birkenhead, with his mother, Carmel and his mother's boyfriend. Kieran's father, John Stokes, is a firefighter and a UK Premiership linesman. Kieran still sees his father, as much as he can throughout the week and is still close with him. He has one older sibling named Sean, who is at Nottingham University studying International Business. Kieran started acting at the age of 6, when his parents asked if he wanted to join a local drama school. He went along and his parents discovered that this is what he wanted to do. From there, Kieran gained small roles in theatre productions such as 'Rock & Roll' and 'Bugsy Malone'. He stayed at the school for just under three years. At the age of 9, his drama teacher put him forward to audition for the hit movie, 'The 51st State', starring Samuel L. Jackson. Kieran's audition wasn't successful, but that didn't stop him from continuing acting. He decided to leave the drama school as he wasn't getting enough time spent with his family and friends. Kieran wasn't sure what he wanted to do when he left school, that was until he reached his 3rd year in high school. When Kieran was 13 years old, he discovered that acting was what he wanted to pursue as a career. In 2007, he signed with an agent and joined a local drama school which was attached to his agency. Kieran then went on to gain roles in a number of theatre productions such as 'The Beverly Hillbillies', 'The Mask', and 'Cinderella'. After months of nothing happening with his career, Kieran left the agency, and drama school. He went on to join weekly acting classes in Liverpool, which was run by two stars from the UK soap opera, 'Hollyoaks'. After 2 months of attending, Kieran felt like he wasn't progressing with the classes, and stopped attending. He felt like the area he lived in did not have enough opportunities for him as an actor. In 2008, Kieran travelled to London for a photo shoot where he built his first professional headshots. Kieran then focused on his school work for a while, and in 2009, Kieran signed with an agent which was out of his area, but not too far to travel. Kieran made his first screen debut in April 2009, as an extra on the UK's longest-running soap opera, Coronation Street. Kieran soon after went on to join 'Carol Godby Theatre Workshop' in Bury, Greater Manchester. He is still attending these classes today on a weekly basis.
