A Cup of Coffee with Marilyn (2019)
Born in 1995, Alessandra Gonnella is an Italian/British writer, director and producer based in London. She began writing, directing and producing short films as a teenager and moved to London at 19, where she graduated from MET Film School and National Film and Television School. She's mostly known for her short film "A Cup Of Coffee With Marilyn" for which she involved Italian star Miriam Leone in the lead role and X Factor Winner Francesca Michielin for the original score. The short film earned her the prestigious "Nastro D'Argento" award for best short film at 25 and inspired her with the idea of a complete series on reporter Oriana Fallaci's youthful years, "Miss Fallaci Takes America", which she pitched at MIA Market in 2020, winning Best Drama Pitch. The series, eventually called "Miss Fallaci" is now produced by Minerva Pictures Group and Redstring Pictures for Paramount+ as one of their first Italian Originals. Alessandra, in addition to being its creator, will sign an episode as writer and director and will supervise as executive producer. Miriam Leone is returning in the role for the series as well. In the meantime, she founded Nervosa Pictures in London to produce more short films and is developing other TV and feature film projects between Italy and UK, all focused on women lead, comedy and romantic stories or adaptations. She's represented by Independent Talent and is a BAFTA Connect Member.
