Meg Wyllie was born on 15 February 1917 in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, USA [now Hawaii, USA]. She was an actress, known for The Last Starfighter (1984), Marnie (1964) and Dragnet (1987). She died on 1 January 2002 in Glendale, California, USA.- Gilbert Francis Lani Damian Kauhi was born on October 17, 1937 on the Big Island of Hawaii. He was better known by the nickname his classmates gave him in high school, "Zulu". His most famous role was that of "Detective Kono Kalakaua" on the hit TV series, Hawaii Five-O (1968). The show helped launch a successful nightclub career. In 1971, he signed a 2.5 million contract to appear at C'est Si Bon Showroom in the Pagoda Hotel and Restaurant. After leaving Hawaii Five-O (1968), he wound up as a headliner for several years at Duke Kahanamoukou's in the International Market Place. After he left there in 1972, he performed at neighbor island hotels and did benefits. He even changed the spelling of his name to "Zoulou", saying it was the French Tahitian spelling. He eventually became a promotions manager for an automotive operation. He died in Hilo, Hawaii on May 3, 2004.
- The Asian-American actor Kam Fong, best known for his co-starring role as Chin Ho in the original Hawaii Five-O (1968) TV series, was born Kam Tong Chun on May 27, 1918 in Kalihi, Hawaii. (The name Fong was the result of a teacher incorrectly teaching him how to write his name. The name stuck and he later took it as his legal name.) After graduating from high school, he worked as a boiler-maker in the Pearl Harbor shipyard and was there on December 7, 1941, when the Japanese attack on the naval base brought America into World War II.
He joined the police force in 1944, serving as cop for 16 years. While still on the force, he made his feature film debut in the B-movie Ghost of the China Sea (1958) (1958), following it up with a bit part in The Lost Missile (1958) (1958). After his retirement from the police department in 1960, he acted in community theater while working as a disc jockey and a real estate agent.
Other bit parts followed in the early '60s, but it was "Hawaii Five-O" that made him part of TV history. He appeared on the show for 10 of its 12 seasons, as well as in the 1997 Hawaii Five-O (1997) TV movie that reunited the original cast, despite Kam Fong having been killed off in season 10. His son Dennis Chun has appeared intermittently in the 2010 Hawaii Five-0 (2010) revival as SGT Duke Lukela.
Suffering from lung cancer, Kam Fong died on October 18, 2002 in Honolulu. He was 84 years old. - Victoria Young was born in 1945 in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, USA [now state of Hawaii, USA]. - Steve Rally has been an entertainer for over 3 decades. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Steve's early years were spent excelling in both academic and athletic endeavors. Steve's regime of year round fitness for well-being of mind, body and spirit, began to emerge. By the time he graduated from high school he was vice-president of his class and captain of his football and wrestling teams, with all-district, regional and state honors, setting school records. Steve's high academic standing did not go unnoticed. He received Presidential and Congressional nominations to further his education at the United States Air Force Academy but chose Virginia Polytechnic Institute, where he studied business, drama and dance, while walking on the Va Tech football team. Football took Steve to San Diego, California, where he went through two years of the trials and tribulations of numerous NFL try-out camps, while playing two full seasons with the San Diego Sharks Semi-Professional Football team. During this period, Steve studied at the National Broadcasting Institute in San Diego, to work on his voice and better his master of ceremonies talents. Steve played a total of 7 years of Semi-Pro Football in San Diego & Los Angeles. Steve has been in numerous productions since he started acting in the mid 80's. Steve starred a few action movies in the 80's such as "Overkill" and "Maximum Breakout", as well as, day player roles in night-time television. Steve began to gain further industry experience from appearances in TV shows such as "What's Happening Now", "Santa Barbara", "General Hospital" and "The Young and the Restless" where he made frequent appearances as the bartender at "Gina's" which led to a photo illustrated feature in TV Guide, labeling him as the new "Beefcake" in "August 1988". Steve has traveled the world entertaining millions on stage as well as being an accomplished actor in film and television. Steve has been performing on stage for over 3 decades, on 4 continents/ 33 states coast to coast and over 14,600 shows around the world! He has performed for more than 1.6 million paying guests as well as for stars like Michael Jackson, Kevin Costner, Mickey Rooney just to name a few. After a 12 year absence overseas in Europe entertaining in 1200 seat action stunt/ acting dinner theaters, Steve returned to the US and landed a number of roles in films since 2009. As a side note Steve is also the most famous centerfold in the history of Playgirl Magazine having graced the magazine 3 times as the September 84 centerfold, 1985 Man-of-the-Year and then again in 1988 as their centerfold and cover guy for their 15 Year Anniversary edition. Due to his popularity with Playgirl Magazine, Steve began a rigorous schedule of television talk shows and radio appearances, such as Donahue, Geraldo, Regis and Kathy Lee, Hour Magazine, PM/ Evening Magazine nationally and morning shows throughout major cities in the U.S. and Canada. In a two-year period, Steve was seen on over 35 television talk shows, 14 radio markets and numerous magazine covers. Steve is producing and directing live entertainment now.

Lani Kai, whose real name was George Clarence Dennis James Von Ruckleman Woodd III, represented the image of the handsome, native Polynesian man for viewers of a television series in the early 1960s. His big break in show business came when he accompanied his mother to a casting call for the TV series Adventures in Paradise (1959) in 1959 and wound up being chosen for a regular role. He also had a feature role in Elvis Presley's hit movie, Blue Hawaii (1961), in 1961.
Kai was an accomplished songwriter whose most notable songs are "Puka Shells" and "Tutukane." His performances and acts are credited for transforming the local entertainment scene in Hawaii.
He continued to write music and scriptwriting until his sudden death at a friend's home on August 24, 1999. Kai was 63 and survived by a brother and half-sister. - Michael A. Lilly was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents were Capt. P.A. (Tony) and Ginger Lilly. An honor graduate of the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law, Michael served as Hawaii's Attorney General and First Deputy Attorney General (1981-85) and was a partner in the Honolulu law firm Ning Lilly & Jones until his retirement in 2019. A decorated Vietnam War Veteran, Michael served three years on active duty and 27 in the reserve, retiring as a Navy Captain. In private practice, he won the largest wrongful termination jury verdict in Hawaii history and, in a civil rights action, an exemption for vaccinated guide dogs from Hawaii's 4-month rabies quarantine for which he received several awards. He is a Founding Director of the USS Missouri Memorial Association which relocated the Battleship to Pearl Harbor as a memorial and one of Hawaii's most successful tourist attractions. In the movie Battleship, Michael was seen "blown up" by an alien peg bomb. Michael authored "Nimitz at Ease", chronicling how his grandparents, Una and Sandy Walker, gave Fleet Admiral Nimitz time and space away from the pressures of commanding the largest armed forces in history, thereby helping him win the war in the Pacific. He also authored "If You Die Tomorrow", a layman's guide to estate planning and is a frequent speaker on legal topics at seminars and on radio and television. Michael has long been active in charitable associations in Hawaii. He is married to internationally renown quilt author, lecturer and TV host Cindy Walter, has four children and lives in Hawaii.

Philip Chong was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on December 29, 1936, the son of Kin Seong Chong and Beatrice Bow Ngan Young. Phil graduated from college in 1958 and was drafted into the service in 1959. He moved to California in 1969.
In the early 1970s, Phil met his best friend, Kenny Endoso, who introduced him to the "picture business." An expert horseman, Phil's first role was as a Mongolian horseback rider in the film Lost Horizon (1973). A multi-talented stunt actor, he worked in hundreds of movies and television shows, including doubling Benson Fong in Kung Fu (1972).
Phil was an active advocate and board member of East West Players, an Asian-American theatre company based in Los Angeles. He and Kenny Endoso founded a very successful business, Stunt Equipment Rental. Phil also became the first Asian-American to be invited to become a member of the Stuntmen's Association of Motion Pictures. A longstanding member, he was fondly thought of as a godfather amongst his peers.
Phil met the love of his life, Stephanie Page, in California in 1971. They married on March 16, 1994. Since his semi-retirement they traveled extensively, having visited Hong Kong and China several times, the Caribbean, nearly all of the United States, and most of the provinces of Canada. Phil also spent time doing the things he loved most: riding his horse, playing golf, spending time "talking story" with friends and family, and visiting Hawaii.
Phil Chong suffered a fatal heart attack at home Saturday morning, March 3, 2007. Phil's loving ways, generous spirit, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by so many people whose lives he touched.
In addition to his wife, Phil is survived by sisters, Carol (Wes) White and Cora Chong; sisters-in-law, Priscilla (Noel) Audette and Susan (Paul) Cade; step-children, David (Gina) Page and Kim (Edward) Knapp; nieces, Michele, Autumn, and Emma; nephews, Brian (Sarah), Eric (Kehaulani), Matthew, Anthony, and Robb; step-grandchildren, Jonathon, Alyssa, Jacob, and Ethan; grand-niece, Ki'ilani; grand-nephews, Connor and Trevor; goddaughters, Irish and Laurel; and godson, Michael.- Actor
