David Thomas Newman is an actor and producer in Los Angeles, CA. With films streaming on Apple TV, Tubi, and Amazon, as well as television appearances on Peacock, CBS, Hallmark, and Oxygen, Newman has quickly built a resume of notable credits in Hollywood.
Born in Bedford, TX, Newman spent his time outdoors playing street sports, cops and robbers, and pin-the-tail-on-the-horses next door. His imagination quickly led him to the theatre where he won awards for performances as Oronte in "The Misanthrope" by Moliere, Maxwell Smart in "Get Smart" adapted from the acclaimed series by Mel Brooks, and Jamie in the fantasy adventure story "Wildboy." Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Newman achieved the rank of Eagle Scout alongside 8 of his childhood friends during his busy high school career juggling theatre, soccer, mixed chorale, chess club, lumberjack club, and his own televised variety news show.
Reluctant to grow up, Newman continued to act while working in the lucrative Oil & Gas industry. During weekends, Newman would audition for projects and take modeling classes at Neal Hamil Agency, while also using his Paid-Time-Off to shoot indie films. Once he landed the lead role of Dan in "Rebar," by Bilal Haider, Newman could finally scratch the performance itch, shooting an award-winning film in South Texas during the hot summer. The film garnered attention and impressed the judges of major film festivals like Dances With Films and the Oscar-Qualifying Festival HollyShorts.
Naturally, Newman swapped the warm colored Texas sunsets for the cool sparkle of Tinseltown by purchasing a one-way ticket to Lalaland. He is now acting and producing his own projects in Los Angeles, frequently collaborating with Oleg Zayanov.
Newman resides in San Pedro, CA, and goes camping as often as possible.- Liz Mikel is a multifaceted artist that has been a staple in the DFW Arts scene for more than 30 years. More inclined to play sports, build a tree house, or get lost in a good book, acting would become the antidote for this shy, introverted, kid from a small, working class Washington State town.
Early on, Wayne showed a particular passion and aptitude for the arts. He realized that through acting and music he could be emotional without consequence or judgement, and found that drawing, photography and design were outlets for personal expression. Although he studied acting, he chose architecture as his college major. He also taught himself the drums. He would graduate from the University of Washington with a Masters in Architecture.
While Wayne found work as an architect, he continued to act in a variety of local independent films and commercials. He also found time to pursue music.
