Desislava Ivanova Tenekedjieva , better known as Dessy Tenekedjieva is a Bulgarian actress, singer and producer. She was a wife of director Stoyan Kambarev. After his death she founded in 2009 on whose name a foundation and the prize for art. To 2010 she is the only Bulgarian actress with a starring role in a film of official selection at the Cannes Film Festival. Dessy Tenekedjieva was born on April 12, in Varna, in the family of Bulgarian and Ukrainian Jew. Her father is an engineer, her mother is a teacher of French. As a child Dessy was practicing gymnastics and tennis. She completed his secondary education in Varna. Pavel Vesnakov was born on 1987 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Rumen Petkov is a cartoon and animation artist and director. He graduated from Sofia Art School in 1967 and in Bulgarian Studies from the University of Sofia in 1977. - Petar Ivanov Popyordanov , known as Chocho Popyordanov, is Bulgarian theater and cinema actor. He was born on June 11, 1964 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He is a son of Ivan Popyordanov (born on 1938) - a longtime Chief of the cinema center Boyana Film Studios. He was also Chief of Bulgarian National Television in 1998. He is a member of Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers, a member of Audio Engineer Society. He is a Head of Sound Department and Chief Sound Engineer in Nu Boyana Film Studios (formerly Boyana Film Studios), Sofia, Bulgaria. He has supervised and performed all audio-related client engagements; consulting, and post-production projects, including sound design and editing, mixing, and print mastering. Anri Kulev graduated from State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow in 1975. He received a degree in Animation Graphics. In 1974/92, he worked at Boyana Animation Film Studio as director, artist and writer. He was a member of the international jury at Annecy, 1987. In 1992, he founded Koulev Film Production. Since 1993, he has been lecturing in Animation Directing and has been directing the Animation Program at New Bulgarian University, Sofia. He has directed six feature, thirteen documentaries and fifteen animation films. "Hypothesis "won the principal awards in Ottawa, Varna, Bulgaria. "Cavalcade" won the prizes in Krakow, Poland; Tolbuhin, Bulgaria; Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He has worked on TV shows and theatre productions. Rangel Vulchanov was one of the few Bulgarian directors who had not studied in Moscow. He graduated from a vocational high school and the Theatrical Institute, worked as assistant director five years; in 1956 was Sharaliev's second unit director in Two Victories. After the critique of On a Small Island, he also was employed as a second-unit director in 1958 in Stars, a co-production between Bulgaria and East Germany that was directed by Konrad Wolf. Rangel Vulchanov was a director of nearly 20 Bulgarian movies and script-writer of another 8 films. He also performed in several movies as well as on the theatre stage in Bulgaria. Rangel Vulchanov was elected best Bulgarian film director of the 20th century. He was a member of the European Film Academy and a laureate of many Bulgarian and international awards. Rangel Vulchanov was an original maker who used his imagination to make experiments in his films. In The Unknown Soldier's Patent Leather Shoes (1979), shot through the view of a seven-year old child, the renowned director takes us through the one-time Bulgarian village and its ancient traditions all the way to the Buckingham Palace. The movie is a mixture of fabulous scenes and great sense of humor and the characters of the classical rural Bulgaria stand engraved in our memory. One of the brightest roles of Rangel Vulchanov at the theatre stage was in Lazaritsa mono play written by the classic of the Bulgarian literature Yordan Radichkov. Rangel Vulchanov was quite ill during the last years of his life. However, he managed to write three books. One of them was entitled "We will all die, and now Cheers!"- Writer

Valeri Nissim Mevorah, better known by his pen-name, Valeri Petrov, was born on April 22, 1920, in Sofia to a Jewish father and Bulgarian mother. Besides poems, novels and translations from Russian, Italian and English, Petrov authored numerous film scripts and plays - both for adults and for children. During World War II, he took part in the resistance against the pro-Nazi regime in Bulgaria and remained close to left-wing political thought through his life. In 1970, he clashed with the communist regime in Bulgaria after refusing to sign an official petition denouncing the awarding of the Nobel Prize to Soviet dissident Alexander Solzhenitsyn. As a result, Petrov was not allowed to publish for years, so he turned to translating. Petrov was held in high esteem in his country and after the collapse of the totalitarian regime in 1989, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature by Bulgaria's Writers' Union.- One of the most talented actors from Bulgaria. Kristina Nikolova was born and raised in Bulgaria in a family of filmmakers, but for the past 14 years she has been residing and working as cinematographer and film director in the United States of America. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Film Theory from the University of Chicago, and a Master's degree in Film from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Kristina has 20 short films, 3 features and 2 documentaries to her credit. Her films have taken part in the film festivals in Milan, San Francisco, Sarajevo and Sundance, to name but a few. Nikolay Mutafchiev is born on 20.10.1974. He has graduated in Acting from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia in 1999. He took master degree in movie directing in National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in 2008. He made his debut as director of fiction films with the short drama "Two on the Bridge" (2006), and in 2007 won a UN subsidy for his project "You Are It". The two films have been selected for participation in various international festivals. Nikolay Mutafchiev has featured as actor in a number of foreign film productions. Between 2007 and 2009 he directed 3 of the seasons of the Survivor TV reality show. He set up his own production company PREMIERstudio, which produced his first feature length film, One More Dream.- Rozaliya Abgarian was born in Burgas, Bulgaria. Theodore Ushev was born in Bulgaria and earned a master's degree in graphic and poster design at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia in 1995. He taught there for several years before moving to Canada in 1999. He works in multimedia, illustration, animation and has exhibited his posters in Bulgaria, Finland, Germany, Japan, Denmark and Russia. His digital animation films have been selected by many festivals, including Annecy, Ottawa, Sundance, Toronto, Montreal, Valladolid, Rio de Janeiro, Dresden, Tampere and Leipzig. Theodore has since 2003 worked regularly in the Animation and Youth Studio at the National Film Board of Canada. He designed and animated the Engrenage web portal, which earned him the Grand Prix Boomerang in 2004. He also developed the site In vivo for the Canadian pavilion 2005 World Exposition in Aichi, Japan. Prolific director, Theodore Ushev completed 3 other films between 2005-2007 - The Man Who Waited, Tower Bawher, and the children movie Tzaritza, which became world-wide hits on the festival circuit scene. In 2007 he completed his movie Sou destined for the mobile devices as part of the 10 movie-series The Art of Seduction, together with directors as Denisse Villeneuve, Guy Madin, and Isabella Rosselini. The series are aired on Bravo TV, Sundance TV channels, and MSN Networks. Now Theodore Ushev works on an animated biography for one of the most charismatic Canadian Directors, Arthur Lipsett. Petar Valchanov was born in 1982 in Plovdiv. He graduated from an Art School, Plovdiv in 2000. After that he graduated in Film Directing from National Academy for Theatre and Film At in classes of prof. Ludmil Staikov.. Together, Petar Valchanov and Kristina Grozeva have directed the documentary Parable of Life (2009), the TV movie Forced Landing (2010). Recently they wrote and directed the short film Jump, which was nominated for the European Film Awards 2013 at Clermont-Ferrand ISFF 2013, making it the first Bulgarian short film ever nominated for EFA. Jump was also awarded with Grand Prix at Brussels SFF 2013, Excellence Award for Best Picture at Busan ISFF 2013, and Best Short Film by the Bulgarian Film Academy 2013, among others. The Lesson is their full-length debut film, having been selected at Toronto IFF (Contemporary World Cinema) and San Sebastian IFF (New Directors).- Vladimir Nikolov Penev was born on October 24, 1958. He is a Bulgarian actor , performing roles in film, television and theater. In 2013, he became culture minister in the caretaker government of Marin Raykov. Penev was born in Sofia , Bulgaria . His father was the Nikola Penev , a journalist from the newspaper "Agricultural flag." Vladimir Penev ends his secondary education at the School number 8, in Sofia. In 1982 he graduated in Acting for Theatre in the class of Professor Nikolay Lyutskanov with assistant Margarita Mladenova in National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria. From 1985 to 1992 he was in the trope of the Youth Theatre in Sofia. Then he became an actor in the National Theatre "Ivan Vazov". Since 2003, he plays in the troupe of "Small City Theatre behind Channel". Then she began to play in Burgas Drama Theater , and later - in the Theater "Sofia" . In 1992, she went on the stage of the Little City Theatre "Off the Channel" . Sashka Bratanova is a daughter of the composer Nikolai Bratanov and the musical activist Nadezhda Evgenieva Volyn-Bratanova. - Vania Tsvetkova Doycheva was born on January 12, 1958 in Sofia. He graduated acting in National Academy of Theater and Film Art, Sofia, Bulfaria in 1980 in the class of Grisha Ostrovsky. Her cinema debut was the movie " Status: Orderly" but she gets more popular with Christo Christov's film "Barrier" (portraying Doroteya) on the novel by Pavell Vezhinov. She won awards at film festivals in Varna and Moscow. With her participation in the cash hits of Bulgarian cinema "Avalanche" on the book of Blaga Dimitrova and "Combine" (portraying Suni) Vania Tzvetkova rapidly became a nationwide favorite. Both films starred by Ivan Ivanov. Vanya Tsvetkova lives in Las Vegas with her son and only occasionally comes in Bulgaria. However, in 2004 Vania Tsvetkova starred in Sofia "Our Other Possible Life" (portraying Tram driver). In 2011 starred in the television series "Seven Hours Difference" and in 2013 in the series "Family."
- Iliya Raev is a Bulgarian theater and cinema actor. He was born on February 23, 1940. He graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria with a degree in "acting" in the class of Professor Zhelcho Mandadzhiev. There he met his future wife Baroness Natalia Bardskaya who is a descendant of Russian emigrants "white guards". He worked in the Haskovo Drama Theatre since 1964 to 1967, then at the Drama Theatre "Sofia" until 1990, then passes into Little City Theatre "Off the Channel". - Specializing in intense psychological dramas, Bulgarian filmmaker Metodi Andonov is best remembered for making one of his country's most popular films, The Goat Horn (1972). He also directed a pair of high-grossing detective dramas based on the novels and screenplays of Bogomil Rainov, There's Nothing Finer Than Bad Weather (1971) and The Great Boredom (1973). Andonov graduated from the Sofia Academy of Dramatic Art in 1955 after studying theater direction. Before entering the film industry, he directed productions at the Dramatic Theater in Burgas and at the Satirical Theater in Sofia. Andonov made his feature directorial debut in 1968 with The White Room, which was based on a Rainov novel. In addition to his work in theater and cinema, Andonov occasionally directed for television.
