Nothing has repercussions anymore

It's really interesting to see the very polarized reviews for this episode. On the one side we have people praising the episode for its battle scenes, cgi etc. and on the other the completely disappointed fans that actually care about what GoT used to be.

I do understand both, but I'm in the second category. There are no stakes anymore. At the end of the day, the most hyped battle in the history of TV was a filmed in the dark lacklustre fight between the ice bois and good bois where the characters that died were borderline relevant. After 8 years of building motivations, complex characters and the most feared army in the seven kingdoms, the only important part (which is just the ending really as all other bits do not contribute in any way) goes like this:

Gurl runs with knife to the big bad boi (which by the way is not at all protected by his incommensurable army of dead bois for some reason). He slaps her, but she's like hehuehuhuhue I have a second hand: stabby-stab. You have to be kidding me 😒. I can ask my 6 year old cousin to write a more compelling ending to this 8 years saga.
