Not the Cosbys
28 November 2016
'For Blood or Money' hands over the A-plot to Rachel (for once), pressing her into service when her brother-in-law violently breaks his parole and takes it on the lam. It's a good story and leaves her dealing with some family issues ("When I was Nick's age, before my father's cancer, I thought we were the Cosbys.") and her first shooting - but it's the other subplots going on around it that are more interesting. Chief among them Boyd, who's still trying to fend off some potential partners-in-crime over a job her has no inclination towards.

The best scene, for me, is the sit-down early on between Raylan and Emmett Arnett. Not only does it recall Wynn Duffy, but their loaded conversation is characteristic of the series' velvety-smooth dialogue.

The pacing for this episode is off compared to those immediately preceding, but this show's never not entertaining.
