Could this episode be more removed from reality than any other? After six months of training and millions of dollars spent, he just decides not to go because his youngest is having growing pains?
Wah, wah, wah, wah, wah. We all went through growing pains as teenagers. Get over it! Mark will ultimately use this against his father blaming him staying because of him. If it wasn't a problem before, then it will be later. One more reason to hate his father.
On top of that, do you think that Binford wouldn't be pissed, spending millions developing a tool for space that will never be used? Tim would be lucky if Tool Time survived cancellation not the least his job. The reality is that Tim would be fired and either a new host for Tool Time would be found or more likely the show dropped.
And NASA...do you really think that they would continue to sponsor Binford tools? Any contracts would be cancelled or let expire and not renewed.
And Mark, do you honestly think he would not slip into a depressive state knowing he was to blame for all this?
