“It no longer resembled the game story”: Max Payne Producer Believes He and Sam Lake Can Do Justice to a Movie Adaptation Despite Borderlands’ Colossal Recent Failure

Max Payne is one of the few video game franchises that suffered a terrible fate when adapted into a motion picture film. The star power of Mark Wahlberg couldn’t save the movie from the backlash of the gaming community and the harsh reviews of the critics. Released a few years ago, it was a time when most video game adaptations were poorly made and failed to capture the game’s core leading to a poor reception from fans and critics alike.

Scott Miller, a producer of the video game franchise felt disappointed with the adaptation released in 2008. Despite the mess, he thinks the game deserves a second chance in Hollywood.
