Chicago – One of the longest running and most important Black film festivals is right here in Chicago, as the 25th anniversary of the Black Harvest Film Festival continues through Thursday, August 29th, 2019, at the Gene Siskel Film Center in the downtown Loop. Among this week’s highlights are two shorts programs. Made in Chicago on August 12th at 7:45pm, featuring local directors Tristian Montgomery (“The Shine”), Ira Childs (“Loyalty), Tommy Sigmon (“In the Paint”), Latoya Hunter (“In Her Words”), Jan Johnson Goldberger (“Shooter”) and Okema “Seven” Gunn (“A Sisterhood of Signatures”). Fantastic Tales is on August 14th at 8:30pm and August 15th at 6pm, presenting six excursions in the realms of horror, fantasy and science fiction.
