The mass dusting that took place in the climax of Avengers: Infinity War has already cast a long shadow over the promotion for next year’s Avengers: Endgame, from the disintegrating Marvel Studios logo seen in the first trailer, to the purple-tinted lettering that the marketing material’s been sporting to remind everyone that despite achieving his life goal, Thanos is definitely coming back.
The importance of The Decimation is also pretty apparent on the first official poster, which features a big purple Avengers ‘A’ crumbling into pieces as though it were just one more of the Mad Titan’s victims. But if a recent message sent out by Disney is to be believed, Endgame could end with a similarly shocking event.
Granted, we don’t imagine it’ll conclude with the vast majority of our heroes perishing once again, but according to the studio, the film will go out with a “bombastic bang.
