Veteran studio executive Kristin Lowe was promoted to executive vice president of production at Universal Pictures, the studio announced on Wednesday.
Lowe started at Universal in 2004 and most recently served as senior vice president of production. In her new role she will continue to report to the studio’s president of production Peter Cramer.

During her time at the studio, Lowe has worked on numerous blockbusters, including all three installments in the “Fifty Shades” series, which have earned more than $1 billion at the box office worldwide. She also most recently oversaw the production on the hit musical sequel “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,” as well as Will Packer’s hit comedy “Night School,” starring Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish. That film had the biggest comedy opening of 2018.
