ScreenDaily is reporting that the first of what will probably be a whole glut of documentaries about the life of singer, songwriter, and legendary music producer Prince is now in the works. Directed by Michael Kirk—also the man behind the upcoming Wynton Marsalis doc Crescendo—Prince: R U Listening? will tell the story of Prince’s early career and rise to purple-clad superstardom. The documentary is expected to include remembrances from a number of big musical names, including Bono, Mick Jagger, Billy Idol, Lenny Kravitz and Sheila E, as well as former Prince bandmates like Dez Dickerson and Andre Cymone. The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters in Q2 of 2017.
