Cannes– Scandi major Svensk Filmindustri has picked up the rights to develop the bestselling crime novel “A Darker Sky” into a TV series.
“A Darker Sky” is the first opus of a crime novel series – penned by Swedish/Norwegian writer’s duo Mari Jungstedt and Ruben Eliassen — which were all acquired by Svensk. The series turns on Kristian Wede, a former cop, and Sara Moberg, a Swedish journalist, who cross paths as they investigate gritty crimes in Gran Canaria, a seemingly idyllic island with endless beaches and a sun that never sets.
“A Darker Sky” was published in Sweden in January and turned out to be a hit, selling over 80 000 copies so far.
