While Angelina Jolie is still filming her "workingmoon," By the Sea, which she directs and stars in alongside husband Brad Pitt, she's taken on a project about Richard Leakey, a well-known anti-poaching paleoanthropologist. The movie is called Africa. Jolie said, "I’ve felt a deep connection to Africa and its culture for much of my life." She added that the film is "about a man drawn into the violent conflict with elephant poachers who emerged with a deeper understanding of man’s footprint and a profound sense of responsibility for the world around him." Leakey, currently the head of the Turkana Basin Institute at Stony Brook, is a Kenyan paleoanthropologist and former politician. So, we guess it makes total sense that the movie would be called Africa.
