'Chicago Fire' star Molly Glynn died in a freak accident.

Chicago Fire star Molly Glynn went on a bike ride in a storm with her husband Joe Foust on Friday, Sept. 5, that led to a falling tree striking and killing her.

According to Us Weekly, the couple got caught in a storm in Chicago's Erickson Woods around 3 p.m. That's when Glynn, 46, and her bike crashed after a tree uprooted and hit her. The actress died in Evanston Hospital on Saturday, Sept. 6, due to her injuries.

Glynn's husband has made several Facebook posts following his wife's death, his first one reading: "Friends, this is the darkest day of my life. Things will never be the same. Molly got hit by a falling tree while we were biking. At hospital now. Prognosis is grim."

He added: "I couldn't save her. I couldn't save her. She's gone."
