A co-founder of Zeppotron and the director of The Inbetweeners movie have joined forced to create an indie that will specialise in scripted comedy.
Neil Webster co-founded Zeppotron in 2000 and produced a wide range of comedy and entertainment as its creative director, including Black Mirror (Channel 4), Would I Lie To You? (BBC1), Lee Mack’s All Star Cast (BBC1) and 8 Out Of 10 Cats (C4).
Ben Palmer is a Bafta-winning comedy director who worked on both the series and movie version of The Inbetweeners and Sky 1’s forthcoming Chickens, plus the likes of Bo’Selecta (C4), Bad Sugar for Channel 4.
The duo have launched Happy Tramp having met last year working as the director and producer of Them From That Thing, a two-part sketch show Zeppotron made for Channel 4’sthirtieth anniversary Funny Fortnight season.
Happy Tramp already has several projects underway, including a BBC pilot called Woody that is set on a tropical island.
