Born John Walter Mills, II in Norfolk, VA to parents Harold and Ann Mills. Brother Harold Linwood Mills Writer/Photographer/Artist, Jacksonville, FL. Joined the CBN Christian Broadcasting Network in 1968 while at Old Dominion University ODU, hired by Jim Bakker. Working at that time as the only audio engineer for the station with a live lineup from late afternoon to well into the morning hours. He also used his talent as "Mr. Clown" on the Jim & Tammy Show with both guest and host appearances. Weekend radio work prepared him for his later years as a Voice Response System voice talent. Walt worked in the engineering division until late 1969 when he joined the U.S. Navy as an electronics instructor. In 1974, Walt moved to Charlottesville, VA working for WINA radio where he encountered his first bucket list item by photographing Walter Cronkite. His camera always at his side, he worked as a VP for a large telephone company in the DC area as well as a large newspaper in Newport News, VA. His next move was to Siemens Corporation in their Communications division. After 23 years, Walt decided to open his own photo business as PhotosByWalt, Walt Mills Photography in the Dallas, TX area. In 2017 he partnered with Randy Newby (Promoter, Actor, Agent) to form GLADmodels Agency and the GLADmodels Academy.
