Alejandro Valentin Cabrera is an American actor, singer, songwriter, and music producer. Alejandro was born on Valentine's Day in the city of Torrance, CA, located in Los Angeles County, and was raised in Hawthorne, CA, the heart of the South Bay. Alejandro is the son to two Cuban parents, Miriam Melcon (born in Matanzas, Cuba and of Spanish and Portuguese descent) and Marcos Antonio Cabrera (born in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba and of Spanish, French, and Portuguese).
Alejandro is the youngest of four siblings and grew up in an artistic family. His love for film began at the age of 4 when his mother would take him and his siblings once a week to the movie theaters. Contributing to his love for film and TV, was his brother Marco Cabrera, who is a phenomenal artist in animation. He spent lots of time not only drawing with his brother, but also spending quality time playing video games and watching animation with him. Video games, like the "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time," "Kingdom Hearts," and "Final Fantasy," alongside animated films like "Howls Moving Castle" and "Princess Mononoke," played an instrumental role in his love for video games, animation, film, and music. One of his artistic inspirations is Koji Kondo, the legendary Japanese composer at Nintendo whose discography spans across titles like Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda series. His passion for music came from his mother and his sister, Adriana Cabrera, who are extraordinarily talented singers. Growing up, Alejandro would would often invite friends and neighbors over to watch him sing and dance to songs of Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley in the living room of his home.
Alejandro graduated from Hawthorne High School and would later reignite his love for acting and singing in college. While finishing up his last semester at El Camino Community College in the Summer of 2015, Alejandro enrolled in a singing course that gave him the confidence to pursue his artistic endeavors. While he always had a love and passion for the arts, It wasn't until he attended UCLA as a transfer student in 2015 that he decided to enroll in theater courses in the UCLA school of Theater, Film, and Television--this was the catalyst that led him to pursue a career as an actor. Alejandro is a proud UCLA alumnus with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Education Studies. Since graduating from UCLA, he has been cast as the lead in many student films from prestigious institutions like the University of Southern California (Master of Fine Arts program), Loyola Marymount film school, and the University of California, Los Angeles among many others. Alejandro's versatility allows him to play challenging and dynamic roles across a wide variety of film genres.
