Sri Preston Kulkarni (born October 8, 1978) is an American diplomat and politician. Kulkarni served in the United States Foreign Service for fourteen years, including in Iraq, Russia, Israel, Taiwan and Jamaica. He also served as a foreign policy and defense adviser to United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand on the Senate Armed Services Committee.
After the 2017 Unite the Right rally, Kulkarni resigned from the foreign service and filed to run for Congress in Texas's 22nd congressional district as the Democratic nominee in both 2018 and 2020. In 2018, he lost to incumbent Congressman Pete Olson. In 2020, Kulkarni was defeated by Fort Bend County sheriff Troy Nehls in his second attempt to win election to the 22nd district by seven percent, 52% to 45%.
