ReviewDhamaka has to be among the most contrived stories Telugu cinema has ever produced. The music tries to keep it alive, but music alone cannot compensate for a film full of plot holes. Balakrishna GaneshanIf there is a category of awards for how to deceive the audience with the wildest twists, Ravi Teja’s Dhamaka would be a strong contender. Dhamaka, directed by Thrinadha Rao Nakkina, tries to achieve what Ravi Teja’s film Khiladi, which again heavily relied on a shocking twist, could not pull off. Dhamaka is a film that is tailor-made for Ravi Teja, and the actor does not disappoint. Apart from Ravi Teja, actors Rao Ramesh and Hyper Aadi hold the film from collapsing with their comedy. Sadly, actor Jayaram, who recently impressed with his acting in Ps-i, looks like a caricature of a stereotyped villain. Overall, Dhamaka has to be among the most contrived stories Telugu cinema has ever produced.

TollywoodAkhil comes into his own, finally realising the potential everyone felt he had.Krishna SripadaAt the core of every good romcom is a misunderstanding, a conflict that drives a wedge between two jilted lovers. How believable that conflict is, is what endears the romcom to mush-lovers. Venky Atluri, with Tholi Prema, showed us that he understands what it takes to make a good romcom - a breezy entertainer that has sensibility at its core. That intention to address a sensitive issue without being derogatory or chauvinistic is what stands out even in Mr.Majnu. However, the movie isn't pure gold either, largely because it still struggles with the fact that Telugu movie-makers don't understand romance in its entirety, and have a dry, siloed, myopic way of looking at things, even the better ones like Venky Atluri. Mr. Majnu is heavily reliant on Akhil, who plays Vikram Krishna (Vicky), a playboy...
