Betty Hughes(III)
Born Elizabeth 'Betty' Sullivan on January 15, 1922 in Bradley Beach, New Jersey to Joseph R. Sullivan and Helen Barrett Sullivan. She died Oct 11, 1981. Her first marriage was to Air Force Captain William M. Murphy. The couple had two children and William died in a plane crash in the Azores in 1951 before the birth of their third child Timothy. Betty Murphy married Richard J. Hughes, a widower with four children in 1954. Betty and Richard would then have three children together making a total of 10 children between them. She wrote a column "Bulletin from Betty" and went on to host a talk show on WCAU in Philadelphia called "Betty Hughes and Friends" for 4 years.
