Gene has over 10 years of experience in design industry, specialising in film, TV, and theatre productions. He has worked on a wide range of projects, with particular focus on feature films. Notably, Gene was a Production Designer for the highly acclaimed film "Far Far Away", directed by Amos Why, which was selected as the closing film at 2021 Hong Kong Asia Film Festival. In 2015, Gene played a crucial role in Hong Kong crime thriller film "Port of Call" which received extensive recognitions including several awards, notably
Best of Bucheon at the 19th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
It also won 6 awards and received 5 nominations at the 35th Hong Kong Film Awards.
Gene's genre extends beyond film. He was invited to showcase his original play "Five Guys", at Hong Kong Technical Art Festival 2022. Directing as well as performing in the production, he explores the power of Mandola and the relationship between nature and humanity. He collaborated with renowned Hong Kong theatre director Che Kwok Cheung in 2021 as Stage Designer for a successful revival of Neil Simon's Broadway comedy "Barefoot In The Park".
