Joseph Engleman was a self-taught composer born 1881 in Birmingham, England, UK as Josef Engleman. He was the viola player in the original City of Birmingham Orchestra. His works include a number of orchestral suites and a ballet which was performed at a futurist concert, conducted by Adrian Boult. He also composed much production music, sometimes using the name John Harbury. His son, Harry Engleman, was a professional pianist. Joseph died in 1949.
