Pallavi K. Shroff is a Prosthetic Makeup Artist based out of Bangalore. She has a Masters level diploma from Prague Film School, Czech Republic, Europe in Filmmaking, specializing in Cinematography. During the course she has worked in over 35 short films in roles such as - Scriptwriter, Director, Gaffer, DOP, Assistant Cinematographer and as an Art Director.
During her last film she required an SFX Make-Up Artist. However due to the cost constraint and other factors, she decided to give it a shot herself. Hence began her interest in SFX Makeup.
After coming back to India Pallavi shot a few short films and a Documentary. She has also shot advertisements for Chumbak and for an NGO- Viveka. She kept practicing SFX MakeUp during her spare time and became a self taught SFX Make-Up Artist.
In order to hone her skills further, Pallavi underwent a 7 week Certificate Course in Character Creation from Gorton Studios, Aylesbury, UK. Since then Prosthetic MakeUp has become an integral part of her life along with Cinematography.
According to the requirements of the film/scene/director, she designs prosthetic in order to transform their vision to reality. She also does concept art where she designs the prosthetic based on the character, which would by itself tell a story.
She made her debut in a Kannada feature film - "Sakuchi" (due to release in March 2019) as an Sfx MakeUp & Prosthetic Artist.
She has also worked as a Prosthetic Artist in Chennai on a bilingual- Tamil Telugu Feature Film - "Game Over", starring Tapsee Pannu, Directed by Ashwin Saravanan and produced by Y Not Studios.
Her most recent film as a DOP (she prefers to operate the camera herself) is DaEMON - an English short film which would hit the film festivals in March 2019 and would be available to public towards the end of 2019.
