With their new horror thriller Guess Who, Tubi may finally have come up with a fairly original idea for one of their films. As far as I can tell, it’s the first film to use mummering as a major plot point. No, not mummies, mummering. What is mummering? Mummering is a Christmas-time house-visiting tradition practised in Newfoundland and Labrador, Ireland, and the City of Philadelphia. It adds a touch of Halloween to the season as people would dress in disguise and go door to door. If they were invited in, they’d give some kind of performance while their hosts tried to guess who they were.
Michael and Kaitlyn, his fiancée, are driving out to meet his family when they have to stop for gas.

This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers.
After giving us the Guardian of Forever in episode 10, it was going to be hard for Star Trek: Discovery to try and top old-school Trekkie nostalgia. Luckily, the final few episodes of Discovery Season 3 aren’t really trying for over-the-top callbacks. Like the episode “Su’Kal,” episode 12 of Season 3 — “There Is a Tide..” — is fairly light on obvious Easter eggs and shout-outs. That said, some of the more subtle Easter eggs connect to much bigger aspects of canon. And, from a certain point of view, aspects of “There Is a Tide…” scan like a Disco remake of a very fun Tng episode!
Baryonic residue
As the Discovery jumps in near Federation HQ, Commander Willa (Vanessa Jackson) tells Admiral Vance (Oded Fehr) that the “baryonic residue” of both Disco and Osyraa’s ship match that of the Verubin Nebula. “Baryonic residue” refers to “the...

Book is back in these new promo photos for this week’s episode of Star Trek: Discovery. David Ajala debuted in the season 3 premiere as Cleveland “Book” Booker, a charming rogue who quickly made an impression on fans. After last being seen in episode 3, he’s back in this Thursday’s outing titled “Scavengers,” which sees Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Phillipa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) coming to his rescue.
The episode will also follow on from last week’s storyline which saw the Discovery crew making contact with the Starfleet of the 32nd century, as led by Admiral Vance (Oded Fehr). This plot will continue in “Scavengers,” as Captain Saru (Doug Jones) and the gang have to pick up the pieces when Burnham and Georgiou leave on their rogue mission. Meanwhile, Stamets forms an unexpected bond with newcomer Adira (Blu del Barrio).
