Ashley Gilmour is a Brazilian-Canadian editor based in Toronto. Kindled by a fascination with the human experience, the art of conversation, and rhythmic emotional landscapes, she edits narrative films, documentaries, and TV.
She is an alumnus of the Editors' Lab in the prestigious Norman Jewison Film Program at the Canadian Film Centre, as well as an alumnus of the Doc Accelerator Program at the Hot Docs Film Festival.
She was nominated for a 2024 Canadian Screen Award (Best Picture Editing, Documentary) for the episode "Haven, But No Heaven" of Black Life: Untold Stories (2023), a CBC docuseries that premiered at TIFF. The short film I Remember the Footprints in the Snow (2022) won the Outstanding Short Film Award at Reelworld, and Faraway (2020) received the Best of the Year Award as a Vimeo Staff Pick. The CBC documentary Kosher Love (2017) was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award (Best Documentary Program).
